    • A showy arrest doesn't make a conviction or demonstrate any evidence the Jamaicans are serious about stopping lottery fraud. In fact the story specifically states the arrests had nothing to do with the lottery scams targeting the elderly overseas. Forgive my cynicism, but I suspect the only "crime"...

    • I thought I would start the discussion here since I have neither a solid phone number nor address for the SCUM behind this scam. Now let me clarify a point: there apparently is a valid organization that uses the subject name BUT the moron who called me at EIGHT AM on a Sunday morning - hopefully -...

    • You have to talk to them in order to get information to fight back. Talking to them is not claiming the debt is yours. I am going through some things now with a debt collection that was put on my credit report and I disputed it. After talking to them and getting them to send a validation lettter by...

    • Your comments about bad collector behavior are best filed under the phone numbers they use, so that other potential victims have an easier time finding them. http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-916-243-5342 http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-916-672-1781

    • I'm sorry to tell you that 100% of all job offers by email, fax, or text, are fake. Everyone of them. The "Mystery shopper" scam has been around for a while. Be VERY careful of any job offer posted on Craigslist. Use the internet, do your homework.

    • It's actually common for debt collectors to transmit a dud CNAM like "unknown" to avoid claims regarding breach of debtor privacy. I recall, however, reading another account long ago which claimed that PRA calls suddenly dropped its business name from Caller ID following a complaint to the person's...
