    Millions of Americans generously donate a slice of their paychecks every year, offering to help those in need while maybe earning a slice of good karma.
    The US charity industry is worth well over $2 trillion, but many have no idea the sector is littered with greed, and their good intentions may be lining the pockets of fatcat CEOs instead.
    According to a study by the Tampa Bay Times and the Center for Investigative reporting, the 50 worst charities in America gave less than four percent of donations to their advertised recipients from 2003 to 2013

    Over the same decade, six spent nothing at all on direct cash aid.

    I came across this article and thought it was worth sharing - so long as you know the original piece was from 2013 and appears to have been updated in 2017 and again with minor changes in '23 for this article. It best for people to read the piece for themselves.

    There is some value here so long as you do your own research and stay current. One thing is certain; The crooked outfits stay crooked as long as they can. It is in their DNA and is their "raison d'être" - those charities exist to steal.

    There is a link to a study by the Tampa Bay Times and the Center for Investigative reporting that is a good run down on the Kids Wish Network. Ugly stuff.

    No surprise that the Cancer Fund of America and Firefighters Charitable Foundation are covered in some detail. I believe those two have some connection to Robo calling.

    Before giving, it is a good thing to check Charity Navigator and/or CharityWatch are useful tools to know more about where your money is going.
