has any one heard of this firm?  They are very intent on knowing your exact credit score and claim they are a direct lender.  They do not claim to want any upfront fees.  I am very leary of this.  Any info would be welcome

Thanks!  I thought that if they needed a credit score, as a financial institution, they should be able to obtain it on their own.  Thanks again!

How did they ruin your credit score?  Unfortunately I did not see this page until after I gave all of my info.  Is there anyway to get this mess straightened out?  I gave all my info like I said and then of course I got no loan.  Who can we report this to?

First, you may wish to freeze your credit file.

You should file a complaint with the FTC.  You should also make a complaint to your state's attorney general or department of consumer affairs.  A police report would be a good step to take as well.

Depending on what this is really about, you may have grounds to recover monies, and/or criminal charges may be in order.

Finally, if you have an address, a certified letter would not hurt.  I suggest getting a lawyer to look over the letter before you send it - that should not cost much, and may be free if the lawyer is one of the good guys.

I just looked up this outfit and found this on their website:

"Quantum Collection's philosophy is that a combined effort between our agency and your office will always result in the most beneficial  results for both of us."

So, the idea is to blur the line between original creditor and third party collector...scum...it looks like the FDCPA needs to be 'tightened up'...
