Update (2 Feb 2012): Someone still keeps posting fake comments here and in the 877-334-5710 thread. He pretends to be several satisfied customers who received their loans from Newbrook Loan Brokers.
The same person also posts long nonsense messages to make these threads unreadable. - clc replies to 800AdminWow -- the shills are getting aggresive, aren't they? Good job, 800notes....keep fighting the good fight
- nj replies to 800Admin| 2 repliesNow they are leaving a lot of long, mostly blank posts like the ones below.
- nj replies to njOr, rather, above.
- Justin replies to njI don't quite understand this site, what is a fake positive post, and who is leaving the long posts?
- Suzette| 2 repliesIs this loan company legit ??
- Resident47 replies to SuzetteWould you really like an answer to that after days of forum jamming and consistent reports of advance fee scamming?
- JustinI did a WHOIS investigation on the site, and it tells me it is registered to Garren M cMillan who lives in Canada. The person that called me was Mike McMillan, hmmm, any relations, or possibly the same person?
- theyknowwhothisis| 1 replyThey got me GOOD! I did some work on my end and contacted their phone company and had their phone disconnected. Sadly, they will find another toll free number to receive calls from! I am so disgusted! Not to mention screwed! But, lesson learned and I can only be mad at myself at this point!
- CollegeGirl replies to theyknowwhothisisHey they just got me for $900. Can you give me the name of the phone company? I am not a person to let this slide I feel as though I have to hand this over to someone who can investigate it. It would be much appreciated.
- Justin| 1 replyThey got a new number, they used an excuse of there being static on the old line.
- CollegeGirl replies to JustinCan you give me the new number?

- Justin| 18 repliesI am willing to help anyone out who fell victim to these people. Here is how I got involved, I applied for a loan at one of these internet sites, a few days later, my phone rings and the caller ID reads, "Unknown Caller". I answer and I get greeted by Mike McMillan of Newbrook Loans Broker. He says I am approved for a loan of $5,000 if I put $877 down. He also mentioned he checked my credit, I have an account with freecreditreport.com, he never did check my credit, that raised the first red flag. I told him to go ahead and fax me the contract, which consisted of five pages for me. The address on the contract reads, "970 Plainfield St. Providence, RI 02909". I did a Google map search and street view of this address, as it may look like a small bank could be from around there, this raised a caution flag for me. My biggest red flag was the website. Their website is currently www.newbrooklb.com. First of all, this looks like a default template and look like the site was made in under three hours. I did a WhoIS search with this site, http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp. I got this result:

ns3012.hostgator.com
The domain, meaning the web address, was created not more then two months ago and the registered owner resides in Canada. The second major red flag is, I check Rhode Island Department of Business Regulations at, http://www.dbr.ri.gov/divisions/banking_securities/banks.php. This company is not registered with them, which every legitimate financial institution in Rhode Island is. Again, if you would like my help in an investigation, let me know, I still have these guys calling me and I am pretending like I am going to give them money just to see what more I can get out of them. - danielle replies to Justin| 7 repliesJustin, my husband just sent a "William Johnson" $950.00 for a down payment on a $6000.00 loan this afternoon. He called us from number 877-334-5712 ext 412. Before faxing back the 5 paperss or sending any money i questioned the guy for over 30 mins. It was hard to understand what he was explaining as his story would change almost every other sentence. I should have trusted my gut feeling because he kept stressing how important it was that my husband call him as he sends the money so he could walk him through it step by step to make sure the payment went through so hecould get us or money. Anyway, We sent him the payment on a greendot card & gave him the activation number but he never gave us a confirmation number. He said their office is open for 3hrs on saturday & that someone will contact us in the morning with our confirmatin number & to make sure we recieved our loan. My husband & i are desperately hoping that we arent getting scammed but after reading eveyones posts, we are pretty sure we did. We would really like to find out more about this & what we can do. Maybe you could contact me through email.
