How to identify magicJack numbers
- ANonieMouseScammers sometimes use magicJacks because they are cheap to use, can be assigned a US number with very little hassle, can be plugged in anywhere in the world where there is Internet service, and are nearly impossible to trace.
The way you can identify a magicJack number is explained here:

You should ask your parents or guardians that question and make sure they think you are old enough to be using Internet message boards by yourself. - BigA replies to kate benzantI am pretty sure 1st graders should not be using magicjack devices, nor should they be allowed on the internet unsupervised.
- NineLives| 2 repliesAnd we are supposed to find your lost phone for you? How about your lost dog or lost brain? This is a forum for reporting and discussing scam calls by telemarketers.
- GoSFGiants! replies to NineLivesWith all due respect to him, he Is a telemarketer.
- BigA replies to NineLives"How about your lost dog or lost brain?" The lost dog possibly. The lost brain I feel we might have a better chance of finding the Lost Continent of Atlantis first.
- NineLivesAgreed :)
- Greg| 1 replyI have a land line and a magic jack. When I call my land line from my magic jack,
it says 'unknown name' and shows the correct phone number. I don't know of any way
to change or spoof my caller id on my magic jack phone. I use it to get free long
distance. It is not a magic jack issue. Most spoofed numbers are stolen from
canceled land lines that are now used by magic jack. Any computer can generate
calls with the spoofed caller id info. You call back the spoofed number and it
seems like a magic jack customer was responsible. Telemarketers are not buying individual magic jacks to use. They use VOIP computers to make millions of calls. - unknown| 2 repliesSome one call my house phone from 251-285-0211 not answer ... I think this a prank call mad as hell
- BigA replies to unknownThe proper thing to do instead of just blindly posting in a forum thread is to put the number in the search box on this site and it will take you to the correct place to post. Here, I'll do it for you: https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-251-285-0211
- Kayleigh| 1 replyI received a call around 11pm from a foreign guy. I didn't answer but he didn't fail to leave a VERY EXPLICIT voicemail. HELP!
- ummm... replies to Kayleighwhat does this have to do with the topic of this thread? If you have a complaint about a particular number, post your comments in the appropriate number thread. Then if you are concerned about the call, block the number!
- Dirty replies to GregThe answer to your question is Wire Shark but this is how a majic jack can be busted.
- Shay| 3 replies206-414-1311 A MagicJack number used by scammers claiming to be from NPPD. Say your electricity will be shut off in 30 minutes if you don't make a payment over the phone with a pre-paid debit card. They are even so nice as to give you stores where you can buy these cards, lol. "George" will hang up on you when you question him further.
