Send it to me. It is evidence. I have experience with this sort of thing. Testing to see if it can be spent. It is a rigorous test and I have to keep the change. The change is evidence too.  Your Government thanks you.

Which one? I have a 1950s-era one with black and green ink, and a 2000-era one with colors. Am I supposed to take out my crayons and color the old one?

But he did say that he wanted to transform America. It seems to me that this would be a very good place for his administration to do things differently from the last one.

Our caller ID records show that we're getting over 100 telemarketing calls a month. Apparently they think senior citizens are easy targets and the government isn't going to do anything to protect us from them.

You do realize that the President does not make laws?  He signs them, but Congress makes them.  He is empowered to enforce those laws.  This whole thing with executive privileges is getting out of hand and making it look more and more like we have a King and not an elected President.

The FCC has already empowered the phone companies to use what they have to to give us the resources to fight this.  So the blanket state that the "gubmint" isn't doing anything is false.  One of the biggest problems is that people want to sit back and do nothing to help themselves.

There are many things you can do in the meantime.

    1.  Stop putting information out where it can easily be harvested (IE places like Facebook and other social media).
    2.  Do not sign those little contest cards.
    3.  Sign up for state and federal DNC lists, its free and its permanent.
    4.  Buy a call blocker, call blocking phone or download a free call blocking app for your cell phones.
    5.  Educate yourself on your rights about different scams, debt collection scams, lottery scams, etc.
    6.  Checkout the numbers that call you.  If you don't recognize the number don't answer, let it go to voicemail.
    7.  Remember that many senior citizens are easy targets and look out for your friends and neighbors.  As we get older a lot of us end up with reduced mental capacities.

That is just a start and some of them may not apply to you personally but may apply to others who read that post.

Medications also cause changes in judgement, and those senior citizens should always be with a trustworthy person when out and about in public to keep con artists away. Ideally a trustworthy person also would be available to screen all incoming calls.

Most telemarketers don't know who they're calling; they use robots dialing blind.

What do you suggest the government do?

What? And give up their sit-com TV time?

"And give up their sit-com TV time?"   Sorry that was the last 2 decades.  Now everything is that fake scripted "reality TV".  Sort of watching a pro wrestling match, you always know who is going to win.
