If I don't know the number, it goes straight to "ignore". I don't know how to block #'s on Magic Jack (and THEY don't either' they also ate my call list, and have given me over NINE TIMES to people who are morons and cannot help me get it back so MAGIC JACK SUCKS and I think I'll post this on Daily Kos, too)
so, as I wrote, I hit "ignore" if I don't know the #. This last one, less than 4 minutes ago, was a 202 area code, so yep, politician or scammer. Both.

Got a call from an unknown number a guy told me that he was from Abridge government grants told me I was randomly selcted to receive a grant of 14,566 for paying my taxes on time. Had me call (202)257-4473. Gave me a qualifying number and an address "2nd floor Health and Human services building 200 Independent ave , SouthWest Washington DC 20201" I called that number and a rep said in a very foreign accent that his name is Richard Johnson ID number RJ007321  he wanted me to go to walgreens and purchase a greendot card. Said to put $100 dollars on it that i can spend on whatever I want. That was when I called him on being a scammer and said I would look into the card. I looked up the green dot scams and did not call him back. And finally he has not called me back. P.s. whenever they called me they NEVER left a voice message.

My father just got a call from 202-600-4535 claiming to be the IRS and threatened to arrest him (in a voicemail) if he didnt quickly call them back...i answered the phone on the 6th call (before i heard the message) and the heavy accent was incomprehensible, but I did get that my father should call them back about a very important legal matter...we then listened to the message, same accent...I've reported this to the police AND the news station...

    Dear Jane
040114, No, this isn't April Fool's. I received a call from  a slow-talking man from India and his message on my machine was: "This call is intended for - - -. The second you receive this message, I need you to call me. My name is Robert Jones from IRS  Special Collective Services. My number is #202-506-9044. There is a deficiency in your income tax. Please return this call as soon as possible before legal action takes place. Goodbye and take care."
It upsets me to think how many "oldsters" believe something like this and mail them money, my Mom would.
Please forward this information to your local State Attorney General, register to vote and beware who you vote for, and VOTE.
     Thanx, Dear Jane.

I just got the same message on my phone, probably the same woman who I spoke to.  I will not be calling to receive my free $9,200.00 from the government!  No doubt a scam!
