I'm from British Columbia and I recieved a phone call from 416-210-3998 on July 27, 2:16 pm. Didn't pick up 'cause I was in a lab, but when I tried to find who called through the internet, I got this. It rang for quite a while during my lab too.

The male stated "He found a lost cell phone and I was the last number to call".  The male caller called me by my first name and kept on in assistancing that I called that cell phone.  I just told him I had no idea what he is talking about and hung up.  Also, I reported the phone number to my cell phone company.

I just got a call from this number. It's a phone card number. I didn't pick it up because I don't know it. But it was my boyfriend who is out of town using a phone card.

One thing that think should be stated outright, for clarity -- as some might be missing the implications?  (now that i've read all the posts)

Given the number is tied to a phone card means the caller was somebody different for everyone posting here.  (Unless of course a collection agency or some other telemarketer is 'hiding' behind it's use).  It was possibly someone you knew who didn't want to burn extra time by leaving a message - or else maybe a mis-dialed number (i use my phone card to send faxes too, for example).

Hope that clears things a bit?  : )

    ... just for follow-up

When the phone rang this morning, i google'd the number, and here i am.  Now that i know... i couldn't imagine who'd be calling us this morning via a phone card??  But it was an out-of-town friend.  She was returning a call to my wife (and so she opted to leave a message, as the phone call was about returning information requested)

    No worries...?  ; )

Hi. I got a call from this number. Once on my cell phone and once on my work phone. Caller left a message on my work voice mail and said his name is Nicholas with Diamond Eagle Investments and Lending. No doubt trying to pull a scam.

You might notice that the number 416-210-3998 appears to be a Bell Canada
phone number. A Bell company phone number.  If you stay on the line long enough you will hear one message that say "Your call cannot e completed as dialed - Please check the number and try your call again."  A second message says, "a Person using a prepaid calling card has called your number."  Another message says, "because of technical difficulties we are unable to route your call. Call your operator."  There is a possibility that a major company like Bell Canada is trying to run up the cellphone bills of competitors, otherwise it does not make sense that someone would be randomly calling without trying to sell you something.
