This is just a scumbag collection agency that will take anything from anybody weather it’s real or not. They are the scummiest collection agency around. However, Jason J Evans is a real lawyer and his NY state BAR number is 2891851. It appears that this bunch of a-holes has somehow received permission from Mr. Evans to use his name and BAR number and I’m sure he’s well compensated for the privilege.

If you would like to contact Jason J Evans directly and let him know how you feel about his association with these scumbags you can reach him at his real office address.

5355 Main St Fl 2nd
Williamsville, NY 14221-5389
(716) 630-0555

Please, take a moment of your day and call his REAL office and let him know what you think of his policy of allowing this scumbag operation use his name. If he gets enough calls he might just put a stop to this behavior.

Bud Says...

The debt collection scams, cons and fraud out of Buffalo, NY never stop. Here is the latest entry into the world of the sleazy debt collectors, using the name Evans Law Offices. The problem is that New York State records do not show this organization and information we received purports to show that Attorney Jason J. Evans may be committing perjury and other illegal acts in his debt collection venture.

I am in receipt of a document titled: SWORN AFFIDAVIT OF DEBT printed on Evans Law Offices stationary and containing a signature of Jason J. Evans, Esq. where it (based on the attorney expert I showed it to) appear to violate federal debt collection laws. These are claims for old Discover accounts and attorney Evans makes statements that are false and misleading in his sworn affidavit. (perjury?)

It is tough to deal with a liar and a con man and the fact that the signature is over a PLLC that New York State records do NOT verify make this operation all the more suspect.

My advice to anyone receiving these bogus notices is to send (attorney?) Evans a debt validation notice, demanding all documentation that validates the alleged claim. Do not be impressed by his bogus affidavits of debt, they are worthless. Make him prove everything. Expect that his hyped-up debt collectors will threaten everything under the sun, as most desperate debt collectors from Buffalo do. The good news is you can locate a NACA attorney from www.naca.net who are REAL experts on debt collection laws.

The Evans Law Offices smell as big as Buffalo, stay far away from these losers, they are nothing but trouble. This operation has the Lenahan stink all over it. Contact me if you need assistance with these desperados.

I have received a call from this number (800-459-1223) but it shows up on caller id as private call.  A Ms. James claims that she has received a civil complaint in their office to be filed in Travis County (which is where I live) and gives a complaint number.  Is the address listed on this website correct for Evans Law offices?  If so, I plan on sending them a debt validation letter. I tried to call back immediately and no one answered.  So I guess its not a real law office.  Please advise.

I had a message on my answering machine yesterday stating that "the person with the social security number belonging to 'my name' please call this number for an important legal matter reference account # ______".  This obviously concerned my husband and I.  Then I found this website.  I'm not certain if I should try to call them back.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

He gave us a case # and said our case would be pending soon if not given a call. Not sure we will even try to deal with him..should we just let this go and ignore it. I know we have some credit issues but don't want to deal with this bogus agency.

Ron Silverman and Ms. Whiteman claimed that there was a law suit against me and that it scheduled for court next month. They alledged that I was offered a settlement for a credit card that was past due for 3 years. When I questioned the voracity of there statements and if this supposed settlement offer was delivered by certified mail or an official of the courts they stated that they would have to get back with me. Current credit reports show a clean record and the court system in Georgia have no record of a pending case.

I too have heard from the lovely fake attorneys at Evans Law Firm.  At first they tried to sound as if they were representing the original creditor on a debt for which the statute of limitations expired at least six years ago.  Then I was told to contact a Miss Whiteman.  When I called that person, she initially represented herself as a document bureau for the State of California, but when questioned, she quickly dropped that charade.  They are threatened to send legal papers to my home immediately if I didn't pay a greatly reduced settlement of the debt.  Today I got a call claiming that an attempt had been made to serve me with papers.  I am actually anxious to get the papers to see how they represent them and how the person delivering them represents himself.  It is unlawful to represent debt collection material as a lawsuit, if, in fact it is not one.  I believe that if you use the name "Whiteman" in returning a call to them, it is a code message to the person answering so that they next person on the phone knows to claim to be the phony state document bureau.  I would love to catch these people breaking the law, in which case they are the ones who can be sued for real.

I received a call from this Evans Law office too. The contact person I was supposed to call back was Ms. Nelson at ext. 40. She said they need to deliver some documents to me in person. Is there any legal recourse which we can pursue?

A call was placed to my former residence from some woman named Ms. Nelson. She said she was from Evans Law Office out of Massachusetts. She gave this number to call with the ext. 40 along with a case number. She said she had to deliver documents to me and in person. I researched the number and came upon this site. Don't know what this it about.

I was told by Bill, ext 39, that my son was involved in a fraud involving his social security number.  How can this be a legal way to obtain debt information?  My daughter-in-law contacted Bill.  Guess what?  He's trying to collect money he says Chris owes from a 6 yr old debt.  Do I understand correctly that some debts they are attempting to collect are bogus?

I too received a call from them on the 12th of November and they told me I had to pay them a large amount of money or they would serve me papers on the 13th. I went to the bank who caught on right away that something wasn't right she called the prosecuting attorney then I went to the court house to see if I really did have a court date like they said. There was nothing out there. Its all a big scam.

received several calls until finally "Jason" mentioned a 24hr deadline before filing in Franklin County Court. the message was a bit mumbled & had to listen to it several times. had no idea what creditor they were representing.when i called on thursday, nov 8th, the person who answered phone did not announce "evans law associates" just said hello. when i asked for "jason" he was not available but later in the conversation he identified himself as "jason". when i gave them the file number, he then told me i owed over $3000 but they would reduce it to $2,083 and would take a settlement of $1200. i told him no, i could not pay that amt. i was immediately talking to "Ms Walker" who identified herself as the document manager for Franklin County & she said that a lawsuit had been filed and was declared judgement on my behalf as "default" and they were to collect the full amt. i told her at no time was i notified or served to appear in court for any legal proceeding or judgement.(at this point i was very skeptical about this group of people) they identified the debt as Home Depot, by Citibank. after negoiating a settlement, Ms Walker then told me the conversation would be recorded for the record, and she brought on "Olivia" to record my consent to pay the debt. Ms Walker said i would get a letter in the mail as well as receive an email. i did not receive either item.

called 11-20-07 and person answering phone did not identify the evans law assoc & when i asked for extension 21 (supposedly Ms Walker's) he said, "Mr Silverman is not here". i told him, i was given ext 21 for Ms Walker. she was immediately on the phone and was very curt and short with me. i told her i did not receive any mail or email and she verified my email address and she had typed it wrong. within minutes, it was in my email box. i told her i wanted a MAILED copy and she said, "you'll get it" and hung up on me!

i contacted a close friend who is an attorney and he said that though they are unscrupulous and use bad business practices, they "could be legitimate" regardless, i am requesting a sworn affidavit from "Jason" before i make any payment. i had an uneasy feeling about this set up last week when i spoke with them regarding this very old/out-dated debt. i am now in the process of contacting Home Depot, Inc financial offices to determine if evans lasw assoc are agents of theirs to collect debts.

Advice: After being contacted by this "Law Office" I sought the advice from a close friend who is also a lawyer. They must stop calling if they are sent a "cease and desist" I believe it can be obtained through a lawyer, or even a clerk of courts office. Fill out the form and mail it certified with proof of delivery. They are breaking the law if they continue to contact you after you can prove they recieved it. In which case I would sue.
