CBE Group: Debt Collection

Receive calls from this number and they never leave a message. When I do answer to figure out who it is there is no one on the line. CBE Group from what I have been able to find out but that is not definite as anymore the numbers are spoofed.

Have gotten 3 or 4 calls from this # and every time I say hello there is no response.  It probably is a debt collector has John mentioned above because of a case of mistaken identity in my case.

Keep calling serveral times a day. They do not leave a message

cbe group... they ask all this information how owns the phone and also call and I'm harassed through the day and evening four times to six a day...they never leave a message

I receive a call about once a day from this number.
The call lasts about 8 to 12 seconds then hangs up.

Someone keeps  calling from the number 877-863-2161? They do not leave a message or when I answer they do not reply? Anyone have an answer to this?

Would like to know who calls from this number 877-863-2161; no one ever says anything when you answer the call, they use to call my home # now they are calling my cell #!

Based on the posts before yours, it could be scammers or it could be a collection agency. You know whether you are behind in any debts. If you are not, you can bet it's a scammer trying to get money from you.

Stop answering calls from this number especially on your cell phone, NEVER call back, and ignore any messages left. Eventually they will stop.

Got a call, no message left.  Put number on blocked list.

This is more like a blog - to be removed dial the number back and ask to be removed.

Debt collection - they have been trying to collect from a guy for over 10 years now.
I keep telling a large number of collectors who call, I've had this number and I'm not him.

They keep calling me one or two times a day for three months already. If they look for me so badly, they should have left a message to me at least. They just don't want to leave any message for us to sue them. Next time, If you can pick up the phone and talk to a real guy, then tell him you are going to record the conversation and see what he is going to do. Remember, ask who they are, why they call, where they are from and what company they work for and ask for the call back local number that you can reach the same guy in a minute.

It is never a good idea to call back a number you don't know.

I got a call from this number today but no one was there when I answered it. So I looked it up online and took the advice to call back. I was able to speak with some one at CBE group. They are looking for someone who had the same number two years ago. I told me them to remove my number from their calling list. Will see what happens next.

another possibility is its done by your phone provider so you will sign up for a way to block unwanted calls for 2$ more a mo. that is my asscessment

They are constantly calling and for no reason. When i call back no is there.

I have received numerous calls from this number with no voice messages and I have no debt--no loans, no credit cards...so, if it is a debt collector, as you suggest, they must have the wrong person, I suppose.

They don't care whether you owe or don't owe, they just want someone to pay them, even if it is the wrong someone.

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.

I have to wonder why an allegedly “legitimate “business would need so many phone numbers to call out on?

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
