Received call from this number 9165548553. Paul Smith from Crime Financial Dept.  There are counts against me with a warrant issued in my name and SS# and before they send an office to arrest me or garnish wages (have garnishable information?), call them back at 9065548553 make sure to call back today or YOU will be in trouble.   The person was foreign and calling from Sacramento, CA.  I could not understand most of what this person was saying.Sounds like a scam to me.

Rudy. Rudy. Rudy, for you to be taken seriously you need to become literate.  You need to be able to actually write in the English language with proper spelling, construction, and grammar.  Do you see all those red squiggly lines under the words in your post?  Can you comprehend what they mean?  Seemingly not since you ignored them.  They mean that you misspelled that word and they even give you the correct spelling.  But since you simply cannot figure something as simple as that out, how can you ever expect those of us with an education to take you seriously?  How could you expect any of us to take your hollow threats seriously or to be worried enough to allow you to steal money from us?  Because that is what you are Rudy, you are a thief who steals, a low life, scumbag, sleazy criminal; with no future but a new residence in the Graybar Hotel.

The atypical scare tacit having going jail for a debt we don't have. Rudy fails to realize that we know that people cannot go to jail over debt.

Got a call tonight from this number.  First some young man with a heavy Indian/Middle East accent claimed to be calling from the Crime Dept.  Then he transferred me to some woman who said she was the supervisor of this department and called herself Rudy Montoya.  She said she was calling about a debt I never paid, and that a warrant had been issued for my arrest for fraud.

Well, as it turns out I did have debt problem some years ago - got involved in a debt consolidation program and paid off all but two loans -- both just never responded to my lawyer.  Initially thought there was an outside chance this might be connected to one of those remaining debts.  She wanted to know the reason why I never paid.  So I told her that I had an attorney who she needs to speak to about this and when I asked her to hold on so I could get her my lawyer's information, the call abruptly ended.  Scam indeed.  I will definitely report this to my attorney who also happens to be in California, but I think I will also report this to the FBI - they have a hotline for things like this.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

    Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
    (202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
