Who and what is this, called to ask if I worked for Amplats and that there is money due to me when I started asking questions the dropped the call

Somebody phoned me from this number and told me that there is outstanding pension money for my ex husband to be paid out for the period that he worked in the meat industry in south africa

Somebody called my dad by this number and said there his pension fund money that he should expect soon.Who are these people because I call back no one answers

There are no area codes in North America that start with a 0, so that should be your first clue that this is a scam.

also got a call from this number today, cape town south africa. they hungup when i answered, and when you call back it is engaged. any ideas?

My Mom got a call from this number yesterday, saying she must get the death certificate of my Father ready they will call her today theres a number that they need on it, to claim for her pension fund that my was unclaimed from my Fathets work Uni Lever, when i called them yesterday they confirmed that they doing the uclaimed funds,Today when i call them  asking questions they hang up, and now the phone is engaged, any idea

This seems to be a call center number used by a tracing company (probably The Data Factory) that various pension fund management companies outsource to locate former pension or provident fund members. Although anyone leaving such a fund would have had their portion paid our or transferred when they left, if the fund product as a whole is later dissolved but there is still money in it, this has to get paid out proportionately to former members. Its typically some trifling amount of a few rand and can be more nuisance to deal with these people than its worth.

I received calls from 0210010198 several times already. Sometimes 4 times a day. One day I got hold op them on the number and was advised that they are a company that find people who have money due to them from either investments or policies and so forth. I keep getting calls they never speak just hang up every time

Caller doesn't say anything

When I answer, the call is immediately cut off. When my husband answer, a men's voice asking for Cornelia. They still keep on trying to phone.

Can Vodacom help stop these calls from coming through my phone? I am so tired! I get missed calls every single day, like four times a day! I sometimes just hang up and never pick up. Can we get the police to intervene?

Guys, I posted a comment previously saying that it probably isn't worth your while to deal with these tracing companies. I would like to take back that comment. Now I've been through something like this twice. The first was for the dissolution of a pension fund for a company I had worked for years ago and the amount was insignificant. However the Data Factory has been bothering me off and on for the past 3 years for a fund for another company I worked for, and I kept ignoring them because it seemed such a hassle. I however I eventually caved in and sent them all my details and filled in the forms and today I find that Old Mutual has paid me out over R9000 as a result, so I take back my advice. Call them back and do all the paperwork, you might get a nice surprise as a result. (As they are only the tracing company they do not know the amount that will be paid, only the manager of the fund can tell you.)

I received a call from this 021 001 0198 number and when I answered the call I was cut off. When I phoned back it seems that the call was diverted to a cell phone and no one answered.

I have been receiving calls from this number at work.  When I answer they hang up.  I want to thank those who reported their calls as I now more aware of what I am dealing with.

my friend also received a call from this number in the morning and she told them to call later at 14h00 but never call back. they were telling her that there is a providend  fund available for her.

also got a call from this number saying they call from sanlam retirement fund saying the is an un claimed money fot my uncle
