- Laurie S| 2 repliesMy daughter received two phone calls which came up on the caller ID as '111' and unknown caller. The voice sounds like a computer generated voice and says "Please Die." My daughter is only 11. We called the phone company and they told us how to trace the call, but the caller would have to call us an additional three times to do so. We also filed a police report. If anyone has any info on this I would really appreciate a post. THanks
- Erica M. replies to Laurie S| 1 replyI do not believe that the area code 111 is a legit area code. Most calls or cellphone text messages from this area code are computer generated and automatic. It's like a phone hack, so to speak. I don't know too much about this beyond that, and it's always good to be on one's guard, but I do not believe the call was necessarily predatory. Just an obnoxious and truly upsetting hack. This is my attempt to put your mind a little more at ease. Best of luck on this. --Erica

- Resident47 replies to OmatWell, that's like having no "customer support number" at all, and the bait-switch to a sales purpose says everything about the alleged job offer. Actors, performers, and models should in general not have to pay to apply even for genuine work. Creative industry members consider this unethical.
I'm surprised this thread has run almost eleven years before anyone noted that both the area code and exchange are invalid in North America. Not to mention, it's a lazy man's bogus number.
About the North American Numbering Plan - KellyI just got the same "please die" robotic messaged phone call from the number 18002343804 today. For a bit I thought someone was out to get me for some reason and my soul left my body, but turns out other people have received this too.
