Several text messages from this number? Who the F**K is this!

My wife and daughter received and "sent" (though they did not do so) 83 text messages in our AT&T account in late August and early September. The numbers were 111-047-0400 and 111-047-0500. AT&T has promised a credit.

Multiple messages received and "sent" to my boyfriend's phone from 111-047-0400 on October 1.  Cingular (AT&T) says the prefix 111 is typically messages from Cingular.  My boyfriend has no idea what I am talking about, he has never seen that number before on his phone, but it appears at least 20 times on October 1.

I have two lines with AT&T and I have noticed the same thing within the last couple of days. I was thinking that maybe it was the text that you send back and forth on PowerChat. But when I called AT&T they weren't able to tell me what they were.

I'm am looking back through my records because I got a text from someone asking me why I'm sending them texts and I have no clue who they are! Well, there are tons of text messages from the 111-047-0400 number on my bill.  And I'm talking about not just a small number!  Is this possibly a hacker? I don't know but my bill has probably at least 100 messages sent and received from that number.  And now I have someone with a 661 area code wondering why I'm sending her, her boyfriend, and her friends weird text messages.  Very frustrating! Going to talk to AT&T today and see if they know what is going on and can reverse the charges.  Will post again with what happens.

Well, AT&T says it's going through my instant messaging service on the phone.  They are taking off all the charges.  And I decided to block my text message service on my phone for a while to try and stop it. But they didn't sound like they were quite sure of how this could be happening.  Kinda sucks, actually more than kinda sucks.  She actually suggested cancelling the instant messaging service, but it's tied to an e-mail account I've had for years.  But if that's what I have to do eventually, I will.  
Hope there's someone that can figure out how this is happening!

Looking at our phone bill there have been a lot of texts that have been sent and received from 111-047-0400 on my husband's and my cell phone. We weren't sure what was going on. I typed in the number for a search on the internet and this site came up. I am glad to know that we are not the only people that this is happening too. Has anyone been able to figure out what exactly is going on?

I got a bunch of these as well. The only thing I can figure out is maybe it's if you use yahoo/aol/one of the other IM services on the phone.

I have two lines as well and the last 2 days there have been a total of 50 of these messages sent and received on one of my lines.  Both started late at night and ended early in the morning, i have no clue what number it is since its not a number you can call back or try to send messages to.  Im going to visit att tomorrow and see whats up.

my husband had 111-047-0400 listed on his bill twice.  after thinking about it for a few minutes, i remember that the exact time the bill shows they were 'received' is the same time he got 2 yahoo instant messages from some spambots.  i don't know if this is the situation for everyone but this is what caused this crazy number to appear on our bill.

unwanted things on my bill from the number of 111-047-0200 from my 12-year-old child's cell phone.  make it stop!  messages both sent and received!  AT&T cannot help!  I called the news station, they are investigating.

it's SMS from yahoo messenger

This was driving me crazy!  But I finally figured out that when I send a text message from yahoo messenger from the computer to my daughter's phone, the number 111-047-0400 appears on the bill.  I checked this right after I was done texting her.

My daughter got 14 text messages from this number in a one minute time frame.  From reading the other posts, it looks like a problem unique to ATT. Is this some way for ATT to run up your cellular bill?

Relax people-- it's just YAHOO MESSENGER!

My husband just had this number show up in his messages sent and recieved on the 3rd of January. Obviously AT&T has a hacker.

This is very odd. But I am going to call the company. - Susan
