What kind of area code is 111?

I am receiving a ridiculous amount of spam messages to my phone.  Advertising Viagra, Replica Watches and other garbage.  AT&T just gives me the run around and says I must have entered my phone number on some websites..... which I know I haven't.  I get about 10-20 spam text messages per day.  I just checked the detailed billing on my account and this is the number that shows up when I have received these spam messages.  111-048-4001.
Not sure if it will work or not, but I went into the set up of the "inbox" and I put that number in to "refuse messages from this number"
Guess I'll see if that works.
AT&T can only recommend I cancel my texting service or change my phone number.  Well, they will lose a customer before I do that.

i sent a text message and the number it shows is 1110484001 that i sent it to how do i find out who that number is?

We are having the same problem. No trace on the number.  I wish At&T would track it down and recoop the costs to it's customers for this crap.

My husband sent me a picture to my PC e-mail address that he took with his cell phone.  I sent an e-mail to the e-mail address that the picture came from, which was his 10 digit phone number @mms.att.net.  I just wanted to see if it would work.  He said he received the text message.  I looked at my online bill a few hours later and his phone showed a "received" text message from the number 111-048-4001.  I'm not sure if the weird number was because I sent it from my computer or what.  I have sent text messages to him from the AT&T website because only his phone will be charged for the text and mine won't, but it showed on his text messaging charges as coming from my phone, not that funky number. AT&T should have some knowledge of the phone number because the picture was originally sent through them to my e-mail address and would have to of went back through them to get to my husband's phone.

Who s calling and texting me from that number

That number is a yhoo messanger its hiding a real phone number

Same deal lots of  messages or data charges with this number. And i want to know why and who they are!!!
We deserve to know this info. Text and data charges are crazy!!!

So I saw on my fiance's phone bill that he sent a text to that number what does that mean

For those of you who are wondering what this number is it is when you send a message from your phone number to an email address such as if you send a picture or anything else but if you send it to an email address from your phone number through your text messages this is the code that comes up on your bill

there's only one thing I'm not sure about at the end of the number where it's 0 0 0 1 it could be 0 0 0 3 I don't know what those numbers that last number represents on each one if it's a different email host or whether it be Gmail or Yahoo or I don't really know but that's what it is

Recieved vulgar explicit sexual images from this number! At&t needs to do something about this! Speaking for myself I DO NOT APPRECIATE THESE TYPE OF MESSAGES COMING IN ON MY PHONE, I HAVE NO IDEAL HOW THESE VULGAR IDIOT'S GOT MY NUMBER!

Please tell us why you think that they only way to receive phone calls or texts is if they actually have your particular phone number?

This text number is on our bill. My husband does not know who it is

Why are you attacking that person and defending the spam messages for? Someone report this person, clearly they have something to do with these spam messages

I always love how the people attacking me never have an education past the 2nd grade reading level.

Not sure what person you want to report but I have to wonder why you are simply so lazy that you can't report them yourself.  Maybe spending too much time drinking and drugging?  The only people that I can think of that would not want people to know useful information are the scammers themselves.  Guess we know what you are don't we?
