called,4:23 PM (EST), Oct 15, 2008:  did not leave a message...

called 2x today. leaves no message.

phoned saturday about 11 am, left no message

keep calling at least 3 times a day

called many times , no messages

Calls started thurs 10/23/08 1 time, and Fri-Sat 1 time no answer or message.  Caller ID no Source

Called once yesterday and no one spoke when i answered.
Just called again today and they hung up as soon as I answered.

Multiple calls from 123-456-7811. 6 calls today and counting.
If answered without saying anything, I once heard a busy phone call center, but usually heard empty air. Caller hung up after a few seconds of silence.

It is discover card calling about new deals. called at 8:10 p.m. tried to tell them to stop calling but said they cant due to card member agreements and stuff like that

I never answer strange numbers like this, but call when I am not home. One comment stated it was Discover, and I believe they might right.

Someone in comments said discover card etcc.. i was told student loan. Scam number.

No it wasnt. Cuz when they call me they say student loan and always a foreigner.

ELDERLY SCAM ALERT
Friendly alert for those with older parents or grandparents.
478-338-9855 214-838-9855 567-258-0624 202-000-1111 567-258-0624, & 01253245316 are all from the same callcenter routing service located in Texas with a server hub in Tiffon, GA and Cleveland, OH. They are calling the elderly with the assertion that they qualified for $9,000 grant thru the USA Loans & Grant office in DC and all that is needed is a CC, SS# or other personal info to verify the deposit.
They call with some CC# info like last 4 and exp dates, then they ask for ccv so they can make the deposit. Looks like company routing the calls is HyperCube, wether they know this is a scam or not IDK, but having worked in phone rooms in the past it is highly doubtful they bothered asking.

The blind men describe an elephant. It didn't occur to you that a fraudulent caller might pose as a bank CSR, and later change scripts to pose as anything else.

Look at that phone number again. Its area code is not compliant with the North American Numbering Plan. You can count it on most of your fingers. The number 123-456-7890 is far more popular with a variety of scam callers. Use of close neighbor numbers is inevitable.

This number called, the caller ID  said " natures wonders" the lady could hardly speak english and told me she was calling from washington DC , she informed me that I was on a list of people that was being given a 10,000 US government grant .... this did not have to be paid back .... said I could either have the money sent via direct deposit or bank card .. ...I said cash! And asked if they could send it via courier pigeon ... said they might need a few, thats a lot of money  ; )  the [***] hung up in me ..... I found that to be very rude  : (

They also called and said I won a $10,000 scholarship for school. I just hung up like, " HA! Yeah right!"

Take my number off your list. Quit calling me.
