    This man is on dating sites and he talks to you for a few days and tells you he is in London but wants to come back to the states to see you, then he says he is a contractor and his check is postdated and he needs your help, red flags go up here folks! he then ask if he can mail his postdated check to you and ask if you will pay his hotel bill and when he gets to the states he can pick up his check and cash it and pay you back, oh and supposedly this check is over 98k. beware of this, all his phone calls come up withheld but his text numbers come across as 141-000-0003,141-000-0004,141-000-0005

    Someone got my cell number and started sending me text messages at some point last night, claiming to be dating someone I used to date, telling me how I need to get tested, how he's so much happier without me...a cruel prank, if it is one.  Pretty hurtful as I haven't spoken to the guy in question in about a month.

    The messages came from a site called Textem.net, and I've blocked my number from them.

    Called AT&T, as I was suspicious that it asked me to dial long-distance and not 1-800, 1-877, etc. They verified that the text did not come from AT&T and advised me not to call.

    MSG: Answer reqiured! Call (866) 237-1977 now to remove restrictions!
    Thank you.

    Seemed totally suspicious. I looked here and don't understand what is goingon but I smell a scam of some sort. We did not call the 866# nor will we as you never know what kind of craziness people are trying to pull. BE WARE...Internet searches for the "from" and "subject" lines yield nothing. New Scam????
