Carlo and everyone else.  Unfortunately, what a good percentage of the population doesn't realize that Microsoft and/or WIindows "DO NOT MANUFACTURE" computers.  Microsoft manufactures Windows which is an operating system that computer manufacturers buy to install on the computers they sell.  So when these idiots call and say that are from "Windows Computers" - I want to laugh my head off there is no such animal.  I would say that legitimate businesses will contact you via email or snailmail, but alas, I've also received scam emails from PayPal, Bank of America (I do have an account there), eBay, etc.  Besides the English in their emails being atrocious, they never address you by name but Dear Customer - Big Red Flag right there.  Even if the emails seem legit, I never click on the links or call the numbers they provide.  I call the numbers on the back of my cards.  What my husband does is say hello and then "can you hold for a minute".  He puts the phone down, walks away and comes back 10 min. later.  Of course, the idiots are gone by then.  My unsuspecting sister-in-law almost got snagged by someone calling from "Windows Computers".  She actually gave him her card number, but when he insisted that she go to Walmart and wire money or take out cash, it finally dawned on her that it was a scam.  She immediately called the bank and canceled her card and checking account.  It was scary to say the least.  She did tell me that he didn't stop calling for days - every hour or so.  I told her that he figured he had a "live one" so he didn't want to give up.  Gotta be so careful out there.  I'll get off my detergent box now - thanks for listening.

Said, "My name is Ashley, and I'm calling from the Windows Technical Department."  I replied, "You're a lying ____, Ashley, and we both know it."  She hung up.   Big surprise.

I got a call from this # (Anna M. Neves was the name on the caller ID) a few mins ago (9:58p). No one said a thing & I just hung up. In reading these reviews, I've gotten calls from Microsoft/Windows wanting to fix my computer several times a week in the past. I've always reported it to my local BBB & will do it again tomorrow.

CID was mobile phone and the caller was yet another Asian trying the Windows scam. It is the same old scam of trying to get the user to download software from the internet and then they seize control of your computer and essentially holding it ransom until you pay them.

It is not Microsoft calling you it is an Indian call center posing as tech support: http://www.computerworld.com/article/2488978/ ... -consumers.html

Got a call from this number but did not answer. If they are from Microsoft or widows the caller ID would not read "Wireless Caller."

Just received a call from this number, a foreign woman wanting to talk with my husband about his computer registered in his name being used in illegal activity on the Internet.  First clue that this was a scam:  my husband is disabled, couldn't use a computer IF he owned one.  Then she informed me that maybe I was unaware of it.  Hahaha!  When I informed her that I am a computer / / systems analyst for the phone company she laughed and asked what was I an analyst of, Microsoft, Windows, HP, Novell (which she miss pronounced) and I said "as a matter of fact YES, plus more", she got belligerent and started calling me names.  As I hung up she was saying "YOU A STUPID STUPID WOMAN".  Catch them at their own game and it angers them!!!!  Caution:  with a little info from you and access to your computer they can make your life miserable.  Don't fall for it!
