This number has called me 18 times in less than 4 hours!

This caller called me at 7am and 10 am today. It is noon now. Left a message saying to call back and a lawsuit had been filed under my name (which was not stated) and to call the number before it goes to my local court system.

From doing a little internet sleuthing it seems as if the reported cases of this number is very recent. One caller claimed it was the IRS but from what I recall the IRS doesn't call you only write you via mail.

But I read somewhere the IRS under the new administration hired 3rd party companies for collection services so who knows. I would be vary weary and just wait for mail if anything or contact IRS directly since there are so many scams threatening action if you don't pay up. Always call IRS directly and DO NOT fall prey to these parasites who take advantage of the elderly.

This is a scam.  They impersonate being the IRS saying your taxes 3 yrs were miscalculated and that you owe money. They will ask you questions to verify its you (do not give any info about yourself). I did the mistake by giving them my name and address. They look up local police department in your area and call id their number to your phone so you actually believe its your local city police. They tell you they will freeze your accounts and seize your assets in a half hour also order a arrest warrant for you. Half hour later you get the phone call saying its the police department and they have received a fax for your arrest. The so called officer does not know what is going on and will want to 3-way conference you to settle. Don't fall for their scam. Report them to www.tigtag.com.

This number called me 10 times over a period of 3 days with the same recording, indicating that the IRS had a lawsuit pending against me and that I must resolve an outstanding payment issue or the authorities will be notified.
