- MikeTotal scam. Claimed they were from my bank-whom I've been w for 17 years-to lower my cc interest. But they didn't know my name. Asked for my exp date. I asked if you're from my bank then u should know when my cc expires. When I told him I no longer have a cc, I'm only paying off my balance he hung up on me.
I immediately called my bank and informed them of the call and they told me it's a total scam trying yo gather your personal info.- Caller: Scam
- Tom| 1 replyThe callers are the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. People that have given their card number to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated!
- thanks-for-the-infoA woman (American accent? not positive) called from "my" credit card company in a rushed voice offering 6.9% blah blah. Which credit card company? I hung up.
Extra info: the caller was calling my cellphone. I have had this # for several years, without any of these calls, *except* from a collection agency that asked for X Y (the fellow who had the # some time ago?) About 6-9 months ago, I answered the collection agency's call, they demanded my personal info to strike me off their list, but I did not bite.
I have not had any more calls til this one today.
I suspect the collection agency sold its dead numbers to these scammers.- Caller: "my" credit card company
- Call type: Telemarketer
- John replies to TomThe card service scammers WILL "service" our credit cards, BUT, when they finish "servicing" them, they will have no available credit remaining!
- las vegas nvThis is a well known scam.they say they can lower your current credit card interest rate. Then they get your current credit card number and then steal your identification. Companies that do this have literally hundreds of phone numbers throughout the United States that do this. If you block that number another one will eventually call. When you give your phone number out to some companies you purchase things from, sometimes in the fine print it states that they can legally sell your phone number to other companies..This is usually one of the other companies.
