caller id said "Mahwah, NJ"...no message left..201-778-6542..when the number is called, you are told to enter the number of your driver...?????

Caller ID just showed V and a bunch of numbers, not related to anything. Possible robocall. Don't know who it actually was.  My landline is protected by a call blocker unit. They didn't follow the instructions from my call blocker so it blocked the call automatically.

Caller ID stated: 04/13/19, 2:29 PM, Spam? Mahwah NJ 201-778-6542. Didn't leave a message. All calls I get from NJ are from Scammers. Six so far this week. And, don't you love it when the phone company put Spam? on the caller id! If they know they are scammers they need to take away their line. There greed is unboundless -  they would rather see us suffer with these calls than not make money.

seem to be blissfully ignorant of how caller id spoofing works. You should correct that and then you would understand how the line could not be taken away.

CID = "unknown".  They have been calling every day lately.  No idea what they want in that our call blocker rejects their call on the first ring.  You would think they would get the hint when they are immediately disconnected every time they call.  Nobody said spammers were smart I guess.

computer software making the calls does not know and does not care. It simply puts your number back in the queue to be redialed again and again and again.

Blocked fake scammer. However, this caller leaves no message and drops the call several times per day on a daily basis. Reported to FTC at complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx. The more reported the better to get rid of this one.

So what good is it to only report a spoofed number? What do you expect them to do with that?

V usually means it a Virtual Number

Yeah, you're  right.  Of course, they just get rejected again and again and again.  I realize it doesn't cost them anything to call, but whatever.  I'm just glad to have a call blocker that keeps them out of my life.

Instead of this number (201-778-6542) calling every day, it's now  been replaced with a new area code (517-778-6542).  The 517 number is now calling every day instead of the 201 number.  They still get blocked.  Have to give them credit for trying though I guess.

Had gotten a call from 201-778-6542   New. Jersey area ,yesterday , I did not answer
    Just got a call. from (401).778-6542 Rhode Island area code
Same number different area code , I answered and got the “silence”  for a few seconds , hung up

Comes up potential spam on my phone and call is blocked but their dialer keeps calling!
