BE WARNED -- THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS

Got a voice mail from "Andrew" saying that he is looking for a computer services firm.  I called him back.

He was polite and repeated that he is looking for a computer services firm...TO ADVERTISE IN HIS [***] PHONE DIRECTORY.

So, he ropes people in by saying that he is looking for XYZ.  That's sorta true.  But he's not looking to buy, he's looking to sell.

Total misrepresentation.  As soon as his intention became clear I slammed the phone down in his ear.

Don't return their call.

Very, very, very shady. CALLER MISREPRESENTED HERSELF AS A CONSUMER LOOKING FOR SERVICES and will go through a whole song-and-dance routine pretending to be someone else so that "the owner of your business" will call her back.

Our business received a call from this number. The caller identified herself as "Karen Gold" from "The Dewey Center". As we are an art school, she asked if we had art classes and then asked some other vague questions about the school. She wouldn't give me any information other than "I want an art class for a group of people but I want to speak to the owner".

So I told her all about the programs we offer and that we do have classes for groups. When I asked her questions about what kind of class she was looking for,  she cut me off with, "Look, honey. I just want to talk to the owner, it'll be much easier that way. I don't want to go back and forth getting information from you and then him or her and then you again".

She demanded I take her name (Karen Gold from the Dewey Center) and number (201-794-1006) down and have the owner call her back.  When we hung up I Googled the phone number she gave and found this site. I'm really glad I didn't waste any more time than was already taken up by this company's scam phone call.

"Karen Gold" of  201-794-1006 called my office several times. she is rude and wont give any details, only wants to speak to the owner, when she told me she was interested in our service i tried to set up an appointment to speak to the owner, that wasnt what she wanted and said "look honey , dont pass the message along if you dont want" and hung up.  I tried calling the numer back, no answer.

Hi! I just got a phone call from "Dan", phone number 201-794-1006.
He wanted to talk to the owner, saying that he is looking for a computer services firm.
Sure, the owner is not in ;)
I Google the phone number, and VOILA, I found other people with the same problem.
Total misrepresentation - he's not trying to buy, he's trying to SELL!
I will not return or answer to that number again.

Same as all of the above. Coulnd't make out the name that clearly, but a male called our accounting firm suggesting he was interested in our accounting services and left 201-794-1006 as the callback number. When the call was returned, the same BS that everyone else experienced is what took place - they misrepresented themselves as potential clients when all they wanted was to sell advertising. Beyond shady. Beware of this company.

They call me from a different 718 number up to 15 times a month for almost a year after having to file complaint with BBB for not fulfilling our contract. Promised us marketing solutions their company doesn't even have the capabilities of doing!ask to stop calling everytime, we think they are doing it on purpose. Intently harassing us because they have nothing better to do   Worst "business" ever they need to be shut down before they rip off more innocent people just trying to build their businesses!

Yes I got a message that was left on my office voice mail last night saying she was looking for accounting services.  She said her name was Autumn and to call her back at 201-794-1006. the Caller ID said Bijo Inc and the dialing from number was 201-794-1377.   I've gotten these calls before and yes they lie to get you on the phone.  Thanks for the heads up and I won't need to bother to waste my time calling them back.

yes, that is a very strange phone call. saying she need to remodel her kitchen, and he only want to speak to the owner. even i told her i am the one that you need to talk to. and she still keep say she only want to speak to the owner.  i am glad i did look it up here.

Received a call from a Jeffrey Miller who asked if our Architectural Firm did renovations. I said yes and he asked if I was the Owner. when I said no, he asked to have the owner call him. when I asked for further information..he said he wanted to speak to the owner (normally folks ask for the Architect when looking to renovate). needless to say, I googled the number, found this site and no call will be maide back

They are still calling.  I got a message from Karen today from this number.  Voicemail left no information whatsoever.  It just said, Please call me back.  I'm so glad I saw this.

got a message today from 'kesha' saying that she was interested in my services.  i do own a cleaning service, but never give out my home phone number so i was very suspicious, so luckily i googled the number and it led me here.  so i called back and asked her if it was the dag media, the jewish yellow pages, and she said yes.  i asked her not to call back.  not a word was said by her as soon as she knew that i knew what she was up to.

This person called herself Karen Gold and wanted Kitchen and Bath products but would only speak to the owner. She was very rude and then didn't like that I would not give her the owner without proper information, she got angry and told me not to have my boss call her back. she wanted to sell something not by it. caller ID siad 201-794-1399 but said to return the call to 201-794-1006.

Hard to understand maybe Asian guy called looking for the owner because he wanted quotes on ALL lines of insurance because he has "been in the business for long time". Yea, right. As I'm reading it here he was looking for my boss to advertise in a local directory.

Addendum to a previous post:; this caller ID also comes up as Bijo, Inc. 201-794-1377. They go through this whole Charade to get past you and through to your boss with your industy - specific questions as to why he wants to talk to him, ... it's all B/S and a waste of your Boss's time. All he wants to do is get you to apparently put an ad in their stupid local directory. The guy Michael Gold has some horrendous accent you can barely understand, and I am guessing 201-794 is probably in Fair Lawn somewhere. 100% right..total misrepresentation.

Got a call from this #, woman with Asian accent said her name is Karen and she wanted to talk to the owner (we have 3) and wasn't clear which division of the company she wanted (insurance is only one department here), also said she wanted to speak with the owner to see if we might be able to work along with her company in some way serving "the Jewish community."  We would never be able to legally market to a target demographic like that.  My guess is she's uninformed and/or ignorant.  

The saleswoman Mathilda who called lied to our receptionist to get through to the owner, said she would only speak to the owner about her tree issues to see if we were a serious company.  In spite of that we did let her come in and talk to us.  What a waste of time!!!  She read from a script about all the services the Jewish Referral Service offers, then wouldn't leave when we told her we weren't going to sign a contract right away.

Basically, don't waste your time with these people!

just received a phone call from "crystal" saying she was referred by someone and wanted to speak to the doctor cause we are a doctors office and she was interested in being a patient but wanted to speak to the doctor over the phone in which we do not do and i said we can make an appointment for you to come in for a visit and she said no just have him call me. Sounded very suspicious so i came online and punched the phone number which was 201-794-1377 and low and behold this is what i found. Thank you for not wasting our time on this thanks for posting everyone :)

Just want to let you know they are still doing this.  Somehow they need to be stopped ... this thread dates back to 2011.
