Called cell phone looking for someone else, 11-27-2011 @ 10:36.  Must be a debt collector as stated previously here.

Actually they are one of the debt collection companies listed on the website of either the SBA or the Department of Treasury. I know this as I owe a defaulted SBA loan and looked it up to see if there were any other way to deal with my bill than through a company called CBE [also listed as a collector for government]. It's too bad you had such a bad experience - my experience with PCR was good- though theirs with me, not so great since they are having to call me and I am looking up their number on the net instead of answering. [ just a little behind] Don at CBE so difficult and rude, everyone at PCR I have spoken with- so polite.

201-806-3165 Been calling me for a week. The minute a lady said her name is Miss___ and that the call is being recorded, I hung up. Before it didn't have an ID.

I get calls on my cell phone my husbands cell and the home phone 5 & 6 times a day I do have a debt but not with them and it is being taken care of thru the social security.How can I stop the calls.they start at 8:00 in the morning everyday.

I got a call from Pioneer Credit Recovery saying they are collecting a Debt on behalf of the IRS, Is this true does the IRS really have Debt Collectors working for them? If you dont pay will they take your Income Tax?

It is illegal for them to misrepresent themselves as a government agency and they cannot take your income tax refund UNLESS you have defaulted on a student loan, back taxes or owe child support.

I have these people calling me also. I called them back and the lady told me i have 32 days to pay off my debt. She must have pulled my credit report because they knew about a recent mortgage I co-signed for. They threatened to garnish my wages that I do not have and withhold my taxes. The lady was very rude and would not tell me a minimum monthly payment so I decided for every time they call me I will call them ten times. They no longer answer my calls.

Had a call from this number today and they left an 888 number to call back.  Said they were from the US Dept of Treasury regarding the company I closed in 2009.    Puts fear into you!  I looked up the number and can see it's a scam.    Have had these types of calls before and knew from this site to look up the number.  Thank you!

Got a call from these people asking me to verify social security and birthdate info. When I told him I wasn't verifying [***] until he told me exactly what he was calling about he refused to disclose. I don't have any delinquent debt and it is no coincidence these people are calling during tax season. It really sounded like phishing to me so I told him to get bent.

I'm a high schooler and this person keeps calling me in my 5th period class and it is annoying me and its going to get my phone away . It's really annoying I wish it would stop!!

From the other posts they sound like scam debt collectors, so ignore them.  I do have to ask why you have your phone on during class though?

Called 10:19am, ID shows as "AST Fund." No message. No idea who they are, I have no unpaid debt, my credit is fine. "Asking to verify my SS#?" Yeah sure, they can kiss my a**!

Just received a call at 8:00 pm. The lady had my name wrong and and I asked what this call was about and she said it was a personal bussiness matter. I told her she had the wrong last name and she started listing off other names so I hung up.
