If they ever call me i just like to confuse their minds and mess with them and Rakesh they are trying to scam you for money. They will say to you that you will get arrested and stuff don't believe that nothing will happen to you. If anyone gets a call from these people ignore or mess with them! They are mostly from India and i think Pakistan there are scammers in South Africa and Nigeria too.

I have been getting numerous calls from this, and when I blocked them, other similar numbers for about a week and a half now.  They leave a message, that is clearly computerized, but it is halfway through it, before the voicemail pick-ups and starts recording. Now that is a high quality scam right there... The part it does record says, "...nue service, and the hot line to my division is, 202-241-0104,  I repeat it's (same) Don't disregard this message, and do return the call, before we take any action against you. Goodbye and take care."

The IRS doesn't CALL you, to tell you you're in trouble. They do things official like, so everything is done through the mail. Plus, they don't tell you to take care. They're pretty much up front with the fact that they're going to screw you, and you aren't going to like it. So this fraudulent call is trying just a bit too hard, and I guess counts on the fact that people are going to be ignorant of how the IRS does things. DON'T FALL FOR IT! If you don't believe me, and other people on here. Call the IRS direct, and tell them you received a call from someone claiming to be them, and are they trying to reach you. Even if they are, it isn't this way. Call the ACTUAL IRS and ask if that is a number they call from. (It isn't)

This is a Pakistan or India based IRS scam. Do not fall for it. The IRS does not initiate any legal action via phone.
    Read http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/press/press_tigta-2014-03.htm

As general background information, here are a few things you can do:
    1) Report it to TIGTA under http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml especially if you have become a victim (lost money, gave personal information etc.). You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at ftc.gov/complaint (include “IRS Telephone Scam" in your complaint). This way you can also help the government establish specific fraud patterns.

    2) Help kill their phone lines. The scammers use Voice over IP lines (e.g. magicJack (Ymax corporation)) to make it seem as if they are calling from the US. This is always against these companys' terms of service and can lead to immediate termination of their contract and blocking of their IP addresses for future attempts to register. Do a reverse look up of their telephone number (e.g. www.whitepages.com) to identify the Voice over IP provider and report it to the company and or law enforcement (local police and/or state attorney general)

    3) If you are really annoyed: call or write to your representative in Congress. As these scams happen all over the country maybe this will trigger a reaction and provide US law enforcement agencies with the political backing and the resources they need to work in India and Pakistan together with local authorities (it can happen, read: http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/ex-call-cen ... mmission-320427). A US task force has already been set up in Jamaica to nab scammers there (see http://www.ice.gov/doclib/news/library/reports/cornerstone/cornerstone7-1.pdf). Well, officer Julie Smith has a new number......first time she called and left a message, it was from, 202-506-9726 on Aug 4, at 9:06 am on my cell.  This time it was from 202-241-0104, today at 11:33 am.  Again, on my cell.  IRS doesn't have my cell number...sigh....one day I'll mess with them and give my dogs information.

A friend received a call from this number and she called back.  It is someone stating they were from the IRS and Criminal charges were being filed and they were coming to her home and arrest her. They spoke with a broken English accent.  The accent sounded like India or in that region of the world.  The IRS is aware of the scam.  Best thing you can do is block the number and continue to block the numbers.

OMG! These people are idiots, they are now using a voicebox or whatever you call it to sound like an automated system from the IRS is calling you. I have never in my life used unclean words on these people each opportunity I get to answer the phone. They are just plain idiots!!!!! The number they give to call back I enter that 202-241-0104 on anything you can apply for so that they can get calls and be annoyed like they do me. I hate these stupid foreigners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its hard to constantly block numbers because they call back private or from a another numbers, I have over 200 numbers blocked for these idiots.  I even got an email from them representing Ace Cash loans asking me to get a green dot card and load my first installment on it. I usually reply cussing them out and they never reply, this time I said Ok I have the green dot number, they quickly replied and asked for the number I replied and said you are a scam when I cussed you out and told you this is a scam but when I reply with what you thought was an opportunity to steal money from me you quickly replied. Oh well that's my rant on this Friday! TGIF!

I am SO sick of these people!! WHY can't the government with all of the high tech equipment catch these jerks!! Last year I started calls from Officer John Smith who, when I finally got him to talk, he told me he wanted ME to HAVE S.. with him!!?? I called the police and they said they couldn't do crap unless they called with another number!? Now getting the same as above, some stupid woman's recorded voice from 1-202-241-0104.  I should NOT have to keep blocking numbers every 6 months! SOMETHING needs to be done to these "people".
