A Man with pakastanian or indian accent left me a message on my home phone claiming he was officer Maddy Wilksworth with Criminal Investigations in Washington D.C. Said I needed to call him back because my social security number was under criminal investigation.  Freinds advised me it was a scam so I did not call back.  My brother got the same sort of message on his home phone a few days later from  a so called officer saying he was under criminal investigation and he needed to get a criminal lawyer.  On the message he wished him luck with the situation if he did not get a good lawyer.  Unaware of a scam, he called back the long distance number 202-830-1839, that was slightly different from mine on his cell phone.  The accented man told him it was to do with the IRS and his taxes.  Asking him if he had filed his taxes every year and saying he needed a really good criminal laywer.  He also asked about the number he was calling from, saying he did not have that number listed for him.  My brother said I am calling from my cell phone.  The man then procedded to give my brother the phone number of a good lawyer he could use but luckily his cell phone died and he did not get the full number or finish the conversation.  When he called me later worried about the call, I too was worried because I am the person who filed both of our taxes and it was strange that we would both get the same call?  But I came on this website and have found both of the numbers that called us are listed on here as numbers that scams have been made from.  

This number may have been spoofed. It belongs to a legitimate software company.

I just got a call from this number saying it was urgent that I call back because the IRS issued a warrant for my arrest!  It was a computerized voice.  Needless to say, it is a SCAM

Same thing just happened to me. I was freaking out they were going to take my mother.

Answered and a machine said the IRS has a warrant for my arrest and that there is a lawsuit against me. I am supposed to call them back. Haha, block the number!

Same thing just now, called the number back and it said "This is the IRS we are busy, call back" LOL SCAM

Just received a call from this number. It was a computerized voice and most of the message was cut off. Thanks to everyone else who posted here, I now know it’s a scam and I can block the number.

Same as everyone else:  Robitic voice advising that there is an issue with my Social Security #.  Tried to call back and received voice mail that person (Pakistani or Indian) is busy and box is full.  Received call from 518-772-2270 two days ago, same thing.  However, this time I got someone on the phone and messed with him a little.  It is quite entertaining to pretend that you really believe that the IRS would ever call someone and threaten arrest.  That isn't how they work.  Quite a lot of fun until I finally called him on the fact that I was well aware it was a scam.  At that point, he advised me that he was going to do some extremely gruesome sexual things to me.  What a charmer.

Just got a VM from the 202-241-0911 number. Same thing..going to arrest me for IRS issues. I called back.. SO much noise I could barely hear them.. Messed with them and then hung up..

A message from this number said he is calling from IRS. But I know IRS never calls people, but rather send mails to notify people.
