Got a call from this number at 7 in the morning. When i told the guy i couldn't understand him & became rude, swore at me, then hung up!  When i called the number back, it said the number didn't exsist!

Received a call talking about my medical history and was ask was I taking a certain medication and I don't even take no meds. I ask him where he getting all this,from he said my local medical center.so I tried call that number back n it don't exist.

This is the same person who has called us repeatedly over the last two years on our landline. Somehow he's gotten my cell number now. He is a foreigner (east Indian?) who says he's with the Medical Dept. in DC saying I'm part of a group who can claim medical abuse based on past medicine use.
We don't have the phone number recognition to know where the landline call was, but this has to stop!!! I have told him repeatedly to stop calling, to take our name and number of his calling list, and when I asked to speak with his supervisor, he said, no.

A computer voice told me it was the IRS and that I should call back (on the same number).

Received call on cell from this number. It was an automated voice saying it was from the IRS and to call them...blocked that number from my phone because the IRS mails letters if they need to reach you. Bogus...

Received repeated calls on my home number.  Automated message left the second time saying it was IRS and to call them regarding a case.  I actually did try to call back and got an East Indian sounding male voice, who, when I said I was returning his call, he hung up on me.  I called back and another American sounding male voice answered as said Hello.  I asked if he was with the IRS and he too hung up on me without saying a word.  Total scam.

These are criminal extortionists operating in overseas boiler rooms using VOIP to alter their identities and locations and out of the reach of US law enforcement.

If someone calls saying he's an IRS agent and demands that you send money immediately, hang up.
It's a phone scam.In fact, it tops the IRS "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams this year, and it's been surging in recent months, the agency said Thursday.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which oversees the IRS, has received reports of 290,000 scam calls since October 2013 and said nearly 3,000 victims have been swindled out of $14 million so far.

By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.

Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.

They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.

Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.

The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.

Called at at 6 AM claimed to be the IRS.
" Hello we have been trying to reach you. This automated message should be considered as a final notice of IRS-Internal Revenue Service." It goes on in this way for a while, then leaves a call back number. (02 241 5671) The phone indicates the caller number to be 202 241 5671.

Automated voice claimed the IRS had been trying to reach me.
It said I should call back for more information on this "case file"

Uh huh, I'll get right on that.   NOT.

Another number they use is 202-241-3512. Scam!!

Was called by this number and person (man) said I owed money to IRS.  Told him to give me my social security number and the audit notice number and he couldn't,  Immediately hung up and reported this to the Treasury Inspector General online.  This scammer also left a voicemail right after calling.
