- subteach| 1 replyThis number belongs to AICR.. Are you ready?? American Institute Cancer Research! I will not give them a penny after the harrasing calls I have been getting! I'm so tired of running to the phone to no one on the other end. Go to "AICR" on the web, and you'll see their email. Send them a note to stop calling your number and be removed from their list! I also told them Never, will I give a conribution to a business that harrases people, including the handicapped, as I am. Keep flooding their email.. they'll get the message! - subteach replies to Nancy| 1 replySee my message w/info, below. Go to it! :O) The Gov't won't do a thing to stop these calls. You have to call or email to the place directly and specifically tell them to remove you from their list! In the meantime, we can atleast flood their email with teh same requests. Maybe, they'll get the message! As to the Poster asking what did we do before caller ID? Picked up, said hello, and then slammed the phone! :O) Maybe we need to have a whistle ready, and when they call again, first say hello, then whistle blow them! That may just work~! :O)
- donnaI did just that.. I just went to the site, and did the email request. However, I love the suggestion of whistle blowing when they call and will do that tomorrow, if the call comes again!

- runmom1What's probably happening is that InfoVision is calling, using the AICR number as a fake front. That is technically possible - I've seen it done before.
The best thing to do is get on AICR's Do Not Call list - that way they can never call you again. - Jen| 1 replyCalled number back and got recorded message. Pressed 1, then 3 to have my phone number removed from their list.

- sunnyYes, I'd like to donate.
I'd like to donate my opinion. These ignorant SOBs are doing a whole lot more harm to the Cancer Research Institute than they are good, if they are even legit, by making harassing phone calls. I will never donate another dime to the cancer research institute and only because of their ignorance and disrespect for people's privacy. And I'm curious to know what part of DO NOT CALL they do not understand. Called and told them to take me out of their database immediately.- Caller: American Cancer Research Institute

- wendeGot a call asking if I was Mrs.......
I am not, because I am not married. I only hung up on them.
It is just telemarketors in my books - Zato replies to JenFollowed your suggestion and the recording said although they have 30 days to remove my number, they would make every effort to get my number removed within a few days. Thanks for the info.
- CKI add these numbers to my address book and then select "silent ring" as the ring type. Now I am not disturbed when they call.
- kansasThey have called a couple of times and do not leave messages. So annoying.
- Monkey Boy| 1 replyquote Called number back and got recorded message. Pressed 1, then 3 to have my phone number removed from their list. end quote
This works - I followed these steps and I have not had a call in over 30 days. I suggest you do this and stop your whining. There are bigger things in this world to stress about.- Caller: ACRI
