I have been getting calls from this AICR caller id for days - The latest uses this phone number - no voice mail

Get calls from this number but do not answer because I have no idea who it is, if it were important they would leave a message. I don't answer any calls if I do not know who is calling !

Received calls a least once a week and at times ever other day from AICR, I will not answer and they leave no message.

The call is from the American Institute for Cancer Research. They are a telemarketing co. They recruit people from all over the U.S. once a year. Last year I said yes, they don't send receipts unless a persons donation is over $100.00. And when I read the fine print Cancer Reseach received about 10 % off all donations. Once you answer the phone it is very hard to get off, they are very hard sell people. You actually have to hang up on them.

DON'T ANSWER THEM OR TALK TO THEM!!! It is American Institute for Cancer Research and they are not completely ethical in their business practices. What they do is send you a packet to give to your neighbors for donations, and then your neighbors return the donations to YOU. AICR expects you to get a certain amount from them and your neighbors do not have the option of contributing privately. For more info go to CharityNavigator.org and check them out. Register with Charity Navigator (no obligations, no spam from them) and you can read blogs on the various charities. There was one going last year on AICR and it wasn't flattering.

The people who make these calls just don't get it, do they?  They are insulting our intelligence.  I would never buy, do a survey, answer their questions, use a product, from anyone who makes a telephone call to my home.

I have received a call from this number every hour today.  They have not left any messages.  I refuse to answer calls from unknown numbers.  Obviously it is not legitimate or important.  However it is very distressing and annoying, because I am old and disabled.  How can I get these calls to stop?

I have blocked number and this number should not be coming through.

I AM ON THE DNC LIST BUT SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT CHARITIES CAN STILL MAKE THESE CALLS. I DID NOT ANSWER AND OF COURSE WHEN I TRY TO CALL BACK , I GOT NOWHERE.

Got a call today 6-12-09 from this number 202-967-9225 and the caller ID said AICR.  I did not answer it as I too am older and disabled.  I had a feeling it was some kind of spam call.  I do wish these people, charity, political, etc. would honor the Do Not Call list but, they are exempt!
If someone wants me they can leave something on the answering machine, if not they are not worth talking to. SO THERE!!!!!

I keep getting calls from this number 1-202-367-9225. I do not answer calls from number I do not recognize and I am on the no-call list. They do not leave any messages. I am told that they are a telemarketer for Cancer research and considered a charitable organization.The "No-call"laws need to be updated because many of those so called Charitable organizations telemarketing firms are just scams trying to get around the current laws.Our rights to privacy should allow people to choose weather or not they want to receive calls from any organization, charitable or commercial.

I've been getting calls from this number while being on the National DO NOT CALL Registry.  (DNC)  Guess they are getting around that by being a charity.  Well since I have an answering service I don't pick up and they don't leave messages.  But it is annoying to get a phone call ringing in your home and then to go to the phone only to notice this number that you don't want to answer.

ya they calle dme on june 14 which was on a sunday nite these guys cant be called back and seem to be exempt from the do not call list what a bunch of scumbags it never ends with these [***]

get a loud whistle, keept it by your phone, it comes in real handy when you answer and its these kinds of jerks calling!

They have been calling for a week.I have caller ID & i see who it is.After the 6th call i answered and before he could start his talk
he was told not to call anymore that i was on the no call list and that he was being recorded & if he called again i would report them.He said have a nice day i said screw you and hung up.They called again today and
i was even worst today than yesterday.I was so insulting i embarrased
myself.They just dont get it.I'm sure they will call again & a loud horn will greet them.

received call at 8:15PM from this number and the caller ID was AICR.  It would be nice if someone would stop these calls.

Just got the call from this number "AICR  202-367-9225" and have gotten so many of these that I just answered it.  Nobody there.  I waited.  Nobody there.  I said "Hello?" and nobody says anything.  I yelled "HELLO!" and still nothing.  Then I hung up and went here.  Can we get these people arrested?  I hope so.

Said they were sending me information to hand out to my neighbors.  I had no chance of saying no.
