I keep getting random calls from this number on my house phone

I got a call from this number on my cell phone.

It is a number used by  "different companies" to try and get business, Telemarketing.

Got a call from these guys (202) 367-9266 this afternoon to my cellphone. I didn't answer, they didn't leave a voicemail. When I called it back, the automated recording told me that their number directed me to their "compliance" voicemail service and that they were a service used by other companies for telemarketing and compliance services. In other words, they're a proxy telemarketing service. It's a long-winded recorded recording but if you listen through it gives you the option of entering your phone number to block calls from the company that enlisted their services. But it only blocks the calls coming from *that* specific company and any other company may still use their service and that number might come up on your caller ID. I entered my number and was given the option of leaving a voicemail. They warn you repeatedly that it becomes public domain and then they try to get you to leave even more information like your name and address. They can't be serious! DON'T GIVE THEM MORE INFORMATION IN THE VOICEMAIL! I left them a message letting them know that the woman they picked to make that recording had a horrible and annoying voice and that I think the very idea of proxy telemarketing services SUCK. Seriously, her voice was veru high-pitched, nasal and annoying (along with artificially cheerful) and I suspect that it's on purpose, so you hang up before removing their number.

just recieved a call from them saying that the warrenty on my car was about to expire, so i stayed on the line because first of all I don't have a car in my name so when i got someone on the line he was asking me what "i needed" and when i mentioned what the message said and told him i didn't have a car in my name and if i should be worried or was there a car under mine name that i should be looking into the guy stuttered and hung up on me.  I'm thinking it more than telemarketing

I got a call frm the same number last night. I didnt answer it I figured it was a telemarketer or some b.s which it was, So I googled it this morning. I think they get your personal info when you shop on the web.

Same here. I was unavialable at the moment and they left a voice mail message on my CELL about auto warrenty, I too do not have a car....makes you wonder. I was half tempted to call the number back just to see what they had to say, but I figured I would check 800notes.com first.

Random calls from this number to our buisness, and know one answers when I say Hello, they just listen and hang up.

I got a call from this number at 5AM in the morning!  This should be illegal!!  I am reporting them to the FCC!

Received two calls - Mr. Robo says this is Jack - this he said a little about Pork Lady and then I hung up.  I think it has something to do with the elections.  Also mentioned American Crossroads.  We are on the do not call list but evidently that means nothing.

Just got a call from them.  It's a politcal group supporting the Republicans.  I hung up on them.

This "organization" has called here twice this afternoon alone! We do NOT accept telephone calls from people/groups/companies we don't know. Saves us a lot of BS. Look at the caller ID. No one I want, no answer to the call. Simple. OH, and when we go to sleep, we unplug the telephones so no annoying ringing!

This phone number has caller ID AMRX -- had no clue so didnt answer. thanks for letting me check it; now number is blocked!  LOVE caller blocking!
