This on another site - who calls me... the number comes up with NUMEROUS complaints... saying it is IC Systems,

IC System collector Amanda PROVIDES SSN instead of requesting it for verification

As I was preparing my initial disclosures and looking for NEW collection calls AFTER IC System received my lawsuit, I listened to Amanda’s call.

Note:

NO mini miranda (ACA on mini miranda requirements)
Amanda tried to VERIFY my ID by PROVIDING the last 4 digits of my SSN.

For days I had been receiving these MOST obnoxious recordings, I’ll have to post one of those too.

So here is the 7/25/08 call transcript:

Me: Hello

IC System unidentified person: Hi, is Christine Baker available

Me: Speaking

IC System unidentified person: Hi Christine, how’re you doing today?

Me: Bad.

… pause …

IC System robot: Christine Baker

Amanda: This is Amanda with IC System and you were just transferred over to me and I’m calling on behalf of Washington Mutual, ma’am, and I do need to verify that the last four of your social is  [XXXX], is that correct?

Me: I’m not talking to you, I have a lawsuit against IC Systems.

Amanda: You do????

Me: Yes.

Amanda: Why???

Me: For these phone calls.

Amanda: Really.  You owe my client money and you’re gonna sue us for calling you?

Me: Yup. I already did. I’ve had it mailed to your CEO, I believe, several weeks ago and I’m absolutely stunned that you would have the nerve to continue harassing me.

Amanda: Christine … Christine … I’m still on the phone and I would like to know what the letter said and what’s going on so I can note the account …

Me: I suggest …

Amanda: notify my supervisor, ma’am

Me: I suggest …

Amanda: and let my supervisor know what’s going on.

Me: Can I say something here?

Me: I suggest you talk to your legal department.  Have a nice day.

Amanda: ok.

Sound of me slamming the receiver on the phone.

I’m glad I didn’t break my phone. There’s nothing to ruin my day like one of these calls.  Feeling so incredibly powerless.  You can sue, but you can’t stop them.

On 8/4/08, I got ANOTHER IC System call.

I would LOVE to depose Amanda.

I plan to amend my complaint to add her as defendant.  There really should be minimum statutory damages just for giving out my partial SSN INSTEAD of verifying my ID.

The FDCPA prohibits disclosure of the collection activities to 3rd parties, but what about disclosure of my personal identifying info to just anyone?

the calls from this number are non stop and have left rude messaging. when the call was answered by myself i was being very respectfull, and the person from this number replied with a "u need to f***in pay your debt" i am trying to collect. at that point i hung up. no one deserves to be talked to like that.

This is IC Systems.  They call all day, every day beginning around 8am.

The agents at this company are beyond rude!  I was very pleasant.  I was asked if I was going to pay the balance that day to which I replied no.  I am taking the matter up with Paypal (who had reversed some charges that I had charged my clients for some products I sold them, thus leaving an astronomical balance in MY account).  I was then told that they have had my case since Sept and I have made no attempts to rectify this matter.  I again told them I have but I've had trouble reaching my clients.  Whoever the agent was told me "YOU HAVE NOT TRIED TO RECTIFY THIS MATTER!"  She was very nasty and kept saying this over and over even though I explained the situation.  

I finally ended up hanging up on her.  This is the 2nd time I've actually answered their call.  I thought if I were kind, it would be easier, but they are very rude and nasty.

It is Ebay Collections. You owe them or Paypal money.

that 202 number is not from ebay. i had a conversation with a rep., and they said that they have no type of calling feature, or had no type of reps., that call customers.

THEN HE STARTED BEING AN [***] ASKING PERSONAL QUESTIONS IF IM WORKING NOW IF ANYONE ELSE IN THE HOUSEHOLD WORKS AND ALL THIS....AND THEN I TOLD HIM I DONT HAVE MOENY TO PAY THAT TODAY IF HE DIDNT LIKE IT I WONT PAY BUT 5.00 AND ILL SEND IT TO HIM TODAY AND THEY CANT DO A THING ABOUT!

HE PROCEEDED TO SAY THAT ITS BEEN IN COLLECTIONS WITH EBAY AND HE WANTS THE MOENY BEFORE EBAY TAKES FURTHER ACTION I SAID WELL THEY CAN TAKE FURTHER ACTION AND SEND IT ELSEWERE AND ILL DEAL WITH THEM

I SAID YOU ARE BEING EXTREMELY RUDE WHEN IM ACTUALLY TRYING TO WORK OUT PAYMENT NO I WILL NOT POST DATE A CHECK I HAVENT EVEN RECEIVED MY INCOME TAX RETURN LET ALONE FILED THEM YET YOU HAVE TO HAVE THEM BEFORE YOU FILE AND THEN ITS 1-2 WEEKS BEFORE I GET MY MONEY BACK

SO HE PUSHED ME TO THE EGE LIKE THEY WANT TO DO AND THINK THEY CAN PUSH US AROUND AND I HUNG UP ON HIM SO NOW INSTEAD OF GETTING FULL PAYMENT FOR IT IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS I WILL SEND HIM 5.00 EVERY 2 WEEKS I HOPE YOU LIKE THAT WILL!

I TOLD HIM MY DAUGHTERS BILLS COMES BEFORE THIS BILL I UNDERSTAND ITS A DEBT OWED BUT I DO WHATS MORE IMPORTANT FIRST!

It is IC systems.They say they are collecting debt I owe E Bay.I have nrver dealt w/E BAy.

I have had several of these calls to my cell from all areas of the Country and when I post it on google it comes up with this ICS, I don't have credit cards, and I've never bought anything online as I don't have a oomputer at home, this is my work computer!  I signed up for the do not call registry and I'm still getting these stupid calls!

ebay is calling me however they took away protection on there sight for

I started receiving calls to my cell, but no messages were left.  I didn't answer because I don't answer unless I know who it is.  If it's important, callers should leave a message.  Anyway, I started getting them at my work phone last week.  I answered and talked to some gal who wanted me to pay ebay resolution fees.  I explained that I was willing to pay the fees as soon as the buyer returned the item.  She didn't care about that.  She said that the case was closed and I needed to pay now.  I again explained my willingness to pay as soon as the item was returned by the buyer.  Again, she didn't care about that.  I was getting agitated, and asked her if it was okay for the buyer to get reimbursed and also keep the item....she didn't care.  UGH!

Too lazy to work...thats what they are ...Wants me and you to work and then give their lazy slime buts our hard earned money:  If I owe E-bay or anyone eles...if and when I pay it'l be to the one I owe....Not some lazy easy chair bill collectors:   IC Systems can go jump in the lake  or starve trying to collect money that don't belong to them ....or they can get a real job....or can they ? Call again tomorrow if you like....It's your dime:

I sold on Ebay, the customer paid with Paypal. The customer, SIX MONTHS LATER decided they wanted their money back. I told them no, they complained to Paypal, which gave them their money back. Since when is there a refund for 6 months later????? Paypal charged back my account, WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, and now is trying to harass me into collecting the money. why do they get to decide my business, instead of me???
Paypal SUCKS, and I won't deal with them EVER again and plan on telling ALL not to deal with them. EVER!! What a ripoff!
