This number calls anywhere from three to six times a day.  It's apparently a scam or something close since the rings stop after four or five.  When answered, no one talks and after a brief pause they hang up.  This has been going on for over a week, every day.  Just let it ring.  You can file a complaint with the FCC at http://www.fcc.gov.  They do respond.  I reported one early this month and got a reply via e-mail.  Also the calls from that number have stopped.  You can also file a complaint with your states Attorney General office.  Maybe if enough people do this, these jerks will finally be taken down permanently.

this number calls - comes up as Washington, dc. calls several times daily & when I try to call back it just rings rings rings.

The FCC replies are computer generated. I reported every call for years and kept track. The FCC never did anything, either on mine or on anyone else's as near as I can determine. Probably one reason the FTC was brought in.

Over the last 16-plus years, all the FCC has done is be a rubber stamp for the business friendly congress on TV network, telecom and ISP issues.
