scam stole 230.00 from me.  Sam Cole was the name he used.

Didn't catch the gentleman's name, but on 7/23/13 guy said he was from "V-Corp" (Visa) and that I had applied for a visa card (and been turned down due to someone at Visa trying to get me approved for $35,000) which then had a negative effect on my credit rating.  Because of federal regulations, they had to clear this up-and he would be more than happy to do so over the phone (although he stressed that I couldn't give him any personal info)...

Call me slightly paranoid-I do not recall applying for a Visa, and I said I was not interested in his 4.99% credit card, he said "No problem", just call him if I change my mind-I would received a packet of information from Visa, via Fed-ex the next day.  No surprise, I never received any packet, and when I got up to check my caller ID, it was this cell number that said it was from DC (District of Columbia).  

I need to check my credit report to find out if the negative information was expunged (as he stated it was) or if this is all just a scheming lie...

My son received a call on his cellphone with the caller asking for me. He asked what it was about and Sam from "V Corp" told him I had applied for a Visa.  My son knew better and when he questioned the caller, "Sam", and told him it sounded like a scam, "Sam" swore at him...
This is an obvious scam, people.  Don't fall for it.
