CWG40 thank you so much. Your response was very helpful. My dad passed away, I was his executor, and my uncle a CPA, volunteered to do dad's taxes. When I got that call I thought oh no, we've screwed something up! Thought I was going to have a heart attack and then Googled the phone number and wound up here. Again, thanks. I did report this via the link you shared. Do you think there's any value in us all calling the number back from a public phone --  mess with them, play dumb, ask where to send the money and how, then pass the info back to the IRS?

this number just called us as well and left a vcmial that got cut off the first part and is a pre recorded with "call back of this number 202-436-9828 immediately to prevent any further action" !! Im so sick of getting these calls what can we do??

Getting a call from this number, It's a scam

First off, the IRS would not call you in that fashion, since I just heard one recording from the so call IRS that try to contact an elderly lady today.   One place I was at, an IRS phone call came in and I called them back.  A Spanish man answered IRS....TOO Funny....when does the IRS answer the phone within two rings..........NEVER.  Then I ask the jerk for his badge number and he asked why, I told him per Federal law you are required to provide it............before I finished the sentence, he hung up and never called again.

Have some common sense, please.

Got a call about IRS suing.  Folks, disregard this bs.  The IRS would contact you by mail if that was the case.  Funny, that when I called the number, it doesn't work.  If you get a call again, ask for their badge number and they will hang up.

They did that to me last year always around tax season.Never heard anything after that until this tax season and the number stays busy.

We have received numerous  calls from this number saying that we are to be sued by IRS - Answered this number because I thought it was someone I knew calling - MISTAKE.  This morning's call came at 6:01 a.m.

IRS is suing me. Why can't the gov put some agents on shutting this type of call down. The FCC should be able to.

You'd think these people would at least get a native speaker of English to proof their text!
I always google phone numbers I don't recognize. Don't these people have a life!

This number just called me and a message was left that was obviously computer generated and had many grammatical errors which made me think it was a total hoax. No identification, no extension, beginning of the message was cut off so all that was left was the body about having 4 major allegations against me and I had 24 “working” hours to respond or local law enforcement would bring me into custody. Very weird but if it was my mom or grandmother getting this message they would call them back and give them whatever info they requested to try to “fix” whatever had been misinformed.

The number call me indicating that if i dont pay this amount they would arrest me in 24 hours. I curse them MF and told them come get me.
