robo call----scam from supposed Social Secuirty

Constant annoying calls stating they are calling from the social security office to inform me they have terminated my account due to a breach.

From the Department of Social Security Administration. The reason you have received this phone call from our department is to inform you that we just suspend your social security number because we found some suspicious activity. So if you want to know about this case, just press one. Thank you.

yes the social security scam back left message to call this number back before legal proceedings start they also called from 2 other numbers yesterday 218-712-6646 and 281-712-6646

Why they don’t put more efforts to arresting those guys?
Is not enough dramatic  for House investigation show?

A lame identity phishing attempt to steal personal information.

This call insults our intelligence on many levels, first, being poorly worded, rife with grammatical errors and a poor text-to-speech recordng, and their "shotgun" approach to making mass phone calls, hoping to find a few people who are ignorant enough to fall for their crude phishing scam, and their total disregard of the Do Not Call list certainly tells us a lot about their business ethic, doesn't it?

Here is a transcript of their crude phishing call as I recorded it using Google Voice:

male automated voice: "This call is from the Department of Social Security Administration. The reason you have received this phone call from our department is to inform you that we just suspend your Social Security number because we found some suspicious activity. So if you want to know about this case, just press [1]. Thank you."

NOTE: try not to laugh too hard at their poor grammar. Sadly, there are people who don't realize this call is a dangerous scam and provide the scammer with their personal information.

The message left on my phone was the same as those above. My SS is being shutdown, etc.
My caller ID showed the same number as above. The name that came across with the call from this phone number was JOSEF BRIAN.

A robot claiming my social security has been suspended due to suspicious activity press 1 to speak to a rep...yeah kiss my a**

heavy accented caller from the "United States Department of Grants & Treasury" offering a "loyalty grant" of $9,000 that doesn't have to be paid back. SCAM. The Treasury Dept notice of this scam can be found at:

I received that same call this morning; and for the second time!

Social Security scam claiming that my social security number was suspended, etc.  For those who don't know: first, your social security number can't be suspended.  Second, ANY government agency will always contact you in writing.  They do not call first.

And who the hell is "Josef Brian"?  Or is it "Brian Josef"?  And how did these scammers get such a businessy-type phone number (202-445-6000)?  I'm guessing the number is spoofed.

Obvious Scam but with somewhat scary urgency. Make sure that oblivious members of your family don’t fall for it.

The number is from Washington DC.

Same scam attempt re: my social security number being suspended. What? No letter advising me of something that can't happen in the first place? LOL Their number is blocked and dead to me. I'm a retired police sgt. and the last one you want to try to scam.
