person said they were Department of Homeland Security, then said he was calling from consumer affairs...HA!

left a message, called me the N word and told me he was going to rape me. homeland security seems unlikely. :p

I was left a message from an American accented voice calling himself Greg Cohen from the Dept. of Justice. I didn't call back and he didn't try to contact me again. This sort of call from a criminal element operating unimpeded in our nation is related to Publisher's Clearing House selling our names and numbers to these creeps. I also get several of letters every week telling me to send $10-50 in order to claim some prize. I've also been sent actual checks that I've researched are from bank accounts that are devoid of funds.  Beware Publisher's Clearing House, they are a den of thieves.

I received a call from this number. The caller identified himself as Scott Wells, who indicated that he was given my name and number by a company to inform me of a second prize winning. He gave me a second number of 702-799-9255. He instructed me to call this number to let them know I would receive the certified check for $450.000.00. This second number said that their efforts to reach me by mail failed. Their position was that this was a Publishers Clearing House prize. Not true! PC does not inform any winner until they are knocking on your door.
Considering having police wait with me for their arrival.

These scammers aren't going to show up. There's no prize, so why would they?

Got a call from this number by a guy claiming to be from the Consumer Protection Agency.  Informe me I had a cashier's check for $450,000.00 awaiting delivery.  All I had to do was call Lloyd's of London (he gave the number) and arrange payment of $900.00 to insure the delivery, because the FedEx affiliate would not deliver anything worth over $100,000.00 without proof of insurance.  Once I verified delivery, the insurance cost would be refunded.  Ha!  Never herd of an insurance company that would do that.  BTW, the background noises on this call sounded like construction noise, complete with a dog barking.  Not your normal office sounds.  In addition, the guy spoke in a monotone voice, again not your normal professional office sound.  The girl at the "Lloyd's of London" agency office had all my information, along with the prize confirmation number, but she also spoke in pretty much of a monotone, like she was reading from a script.  Red flags all over the place!  The phone number for her turned out not to be a valid Lloyd's of London number.
