I received message on my answering machine a week ago, saying it was the IRS and that they were filing a lawsuit against me and to call 202-470-6830.  This morning at 6 am, Jan. 20,2015, I received another message saying this is my final notice and to call 202-470-6830.  I will not call !!

just got the same call on my cell from 722-597-6584.  I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer.  Got the robo call about it being my final notice from the IRS regarding a lawsuit and to call 202-470-6830.  

Called and said my son owed money to the IRS,  They called on his new cell phone.  Talked to three people  Ashley,  Kevin, and Peter.  Kevin was the rudest.  Because I would not give him my name,    Told  them the number I was calling from was a
different number.  Even gave them my son's number.  Still insisted  I was the one they were calling.  Kevin  told me in so many
words what I could think about it.  So I answered politely as possible  back.  Look Up the phone number on google.  So I am reporting this  to suggested government Phone Number.   I am  going to see what else can be done.  Anybody else have any
other places we can report these  nice people to?  !!!!!! I will check back for any new ideas!!!!  They need to be dealt with!!!!!

I think of the elderly and mentally challenged or citizens new here who don't know this scam to get personal information...should be a felony!!!!!

IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. It has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and ask for money. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

I received a call from 202-470-6830. It left a recording from "Internal Revenue Services", stating to contact them immediately as they were filing a suit against me. A similar scam call to a neighbor, who was mentally fragile at the time of the call, caused her to lose $800.00. It is truly a shame that there is no way to send a drone to take out this call center. P.S. Your Call Type dropdown menu should include Scammer.

1 the phone call right off the bat was bs . I was first contacted by 2224706830 this guy gave me a line of crap about
9,000 grant money that the government  was handing out to 1000 something people in my city . I may not be the brightest bulb but if anybody fell for this they deserved whatever they got.DONT get me wrong there are government grants out there but you have to go file for them and submit paper work
I could hardly understand what he was saying. told me i could have the money put right into my account or get it by money gram.i told him i didn't want to give out info he say he wasn't after that yeah right LIE.then he gave me a confirmation

to scam me.here's where it just got funny he had my first name right  ok then he asked me my last name i paused he said are you still there yes what is your last name i ask him shouldn't you know my name well he drop the call so fast.
but the next day i called back but it wouldn't let me though with either number. IF YOU GET CALLS THAT MAY SOUND OFF LIKE THIS DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO AND WHEN DEALING WITH ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY CLUE IT'S A SCAM.and when it deals with grant money if you didn't fill out a form or you yourself called someone who will help you with

if i understand u right u got money from these people the 2024706830 or 222476830 because if that is what you are saying 1  what grant did you go there is no such thing as a grant with no name .2 other people have been contacted by that number as something else why
what do you mean formality if you cant answer in detail these questions then it seems to me that you are part of the scam and trying to get peoples trust and selling the same  line of crap as they are i think the others would agree

Told that I have been chosen for a loyalty grant for paying my taxes on time!  I know that the federal government does not give money away!

Same as the rest, said I won a 9000.00 grant for being prompt on my payments and never filed for bankruptcy. Was told to call  202 470 6830 to confirm and get further instructions. Caller was a female with very broken english. Said they were working with the Federal Reserve Bank of NY.
