This is the number listed for China's embassy in Washington, DC.

I too received an automated call from it with a message being read in Chinese. I don't know the content of the message as I do not speak Chinese. Returning the call gave a busy tone... it's possible this is some kind of hacked scenario and the embassy's phone system is not actually being used to make these automated calls?

Chinese Embassy in Washington DC: Visa Department. Recorded message in Chinese left on a Saturday.
    1) The Embassy is not open on Saturday.
    2) I'm not a Chinese National - nor planning to travel to China.
    3) Someone has spoofed/hijacked their number.

Same as everyone else--woman speaking Chinese in recording. Left me a voicemail. This is the actual number of the Chinese Embassy in D.C. but has been spoofed by spammers. What I read on another site is that it's threatening Chinese people by telling them they or their relatives have to either go back to China for some violation or have to pay a fine here or some BS. BAD FRAUD.

Received a phone call from this number today.
Same situation as the other comments for this number: a female speaking a foreign language.
My caller ID reads this phone number as "ODN"
Everyone be cautious ... more than likely, this is a robocall attempt from telemarketing scammers.
Also, this is probably a fake phone number that they display in caller ID. They have "spoofed" this phone number, and are hiding their true phone number that they really used to call us.

I forget where, but read an article this weekend about Chinese nationals being scared into paying money from these messages.  Something about threatening them re homeland security, etc.  Many millions already lost.  What a rotten thing to do.

Junk Call.  Embassy is aware of it.   Stay alert of scam/trap and ignore the call.

Recorded message in foreign language that I do NOT understand. Googled number, says it’s the Chinese embassy. Other posters say it’s been spoofed, and is some kind of scam, which I believe. I have no business with China, other than my vast array of stuff that’s “made in China.”
