This is ABSOLUTELY a scam.  I received a voice mail message from this number supposedly representing the IRS telling me that the IRS had filed a lawsuit against me for $ I owed them. So I thought, "okay, let's play". Called the number back. Took several attempts to get through because either the number was "invalid" or the mailbox was full. Finally someone answered. Of course he had a heavy foreign accent. He rattled off a bunch of nonsense about did I have an attorney and how I could receive 5 years in prison, yadayada....asked him for more specific info but of course he couldn't provide it. He told me that there had been two attempts to come to my house on two specific dates to address the matter but that I wasn't home, however a photo was taken of my door as proof that they did attempt to address this issue with me face to face. I asked that he email me a copy of the pic of my door (LOL!) and he muttered something about receiving it in an hour and "have a good day"...click.

Hello, received this same message to call a Julie Smith, IRS officer " with a time sensitive" response required. It is truly a shame that the real IRS or FBI doesn't call these scammers back. My first thought was I don't owe the IRS anything. They haven't been sending any mail so who the heck is this. Needless to say I searched the number and here I am. I also have been receiving pitiful email notifications I won money or have an inheritance to claim. Maybe they picked up my number and email recently on something I signed up for. The emails authors can't spell which is the first tip off. But this phone scam is somewhat threatening and I think I will research how to file a complaint!!
