Called last night and left a message stating he was David Jackson from Dept. of Legal Affairs for US Treasury dept.and was looking for my husband to settle an issue. We weren't home to answer the call and would not have done so anyways. He called back to 3 times today!!! Left the same message except he said he was from the Dept of Legal Affairs for the US Treasury from the IRS. Sounds like a typical scam phone call!!! Will not respond to it. We will call the IRS if needs be.

Msg left stating I was a party to legal action from department of legal affairs I needed to call Richard Smith right away. I called and subject I.D. himself as Kevin Smith. Told me Sheriff would be at my house in two hours to arrest me for back taxes from 2008. I told him great, looking forward to their arrival, I would have coffee on, seeing as how I work for the Sheriff. He hung up.

Caller keeps calling multiple times a day and leaving messages saying from Dept. of Legal affairs. This is a business # they are calling that belonged to someone prior to us because he stated the name he was calling on one message. Caller has thick accent and tries to sound intelligent but does not! Anyone in their right mind can tell it is a scam phone call.

Rec'vd a call from this number, they said they were with the United States Treasury Dept, and I owned back taxes. They told me not to hang up, because they had people near my home, who would come and get me and my family would never hear from me again. I live about 20 minutes from nearest police dept. they then made demands for $5,000. They knew my credit card number and the limit on it. They would not let me hang up, until they gave me instructions to follow, then they called me right away on my cell phone and the hell began. They stalk you, the State Police, tracked the calls down to originating in India, they are calling into the US and then the people in the US are forwarding the calls to another phone, which forwards to another phone, then this jerk who acts like he is in US threatens you. They do have people here in US helping them.
They actually watched me, told me what I was doing when I was at the store, they told me how many people were ahead of me.
They are not only terrorists, but stalkers. Block there calls with your phone provider.

I hope you had your credit card cancelled and a new one issued.  You didn't say if you paid them - if you did, you need to file a fraudulent transaction dispute with your cc company.

Also contact at least one of the three credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion) and have fraud alerts placed on your files.
