9:30am Called and hung up as soon as I answered.  Apparently I didn't have the right accent to take the poll. :-)

This Number 202-599-8502 and also 202-599-8470 have called my cell phone and my home phone, and my wife's cell phone with a scam about "free cruise" if I answer a survey about the "debt crisis".  I believe that this violates the law as I am on the do not call registry and it is illegal to robocall cell phones.

Called the cellphone - Did not answer....

How can they blindly call a) a cell phone and b) a cell phone on the DNC registry? Where are they getting their list from I wonder. Sad for them, I can't take a cruise anytime soon and don't have credit issues....bad list you bought!

I have received numerous calls from this number and they always just hang up.  I am tired of it.

Left no message and Unknown Name on my caller ID- When that happens it's a scam or tetelmarketer, so I don't even answer or if I do I grill them to death on information- when that happens most of the time they hang up because they are phoneys.

I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know.

Kit...remember how the robocalls work:  All you have to do is "pick up" your phone.  The robot system recognizes that YOUR number picked up the phone. You then move into a better classification to sell your number to a 'phantom' company that just wants to fool with people that will pick up a phone. They have a better chance of selling you something. Also, your 'prized' number can be sold in a group to these  kinds of telemarketers.  They won't pay money for people that don't even pick their phone up. As you have surely determined by now, the "Do not call" listing through the government is nearly worthless. With cuts being made in Washington they may have just discontinued it. If not now...soon, most likely.

If they keep calling, keep a record of the time, date, and number and any other information you can and register on the DONOTCALL.GOV (it's free) - They have to stop calling after 31 days- I complained several people who kept calling me this way and now they don't. Give it a try, it may help.

Don't pick up. Just block from any further calls.

This is a tactic used by a collection agency to track you down.

Seriously it is. Don't ever disclose your information.

it calls once a week then hangs up when I answer. so probably checking for active #s..
