I also got a call from this number - going to block it

Received a call from this number claiming to be an investigation unit about "Your husband was involved in a shooting," with directions to contact John Marrison. As soon as I called them, I realized that it was a total scam. The guy asked me if I got a voice mail or email..?! People on the background calling.. Heavy ascent.. No protocols followed..
I asked him right out if he is a scammer, and he hang up. Please be aware and do not waste your time on this as*holes. Period.

Received a phone call around 1:30 in the afternoon from this phone number. Who would've thought that an Indian (Asian) accent would be accompanied by the ordinary-sounding American name of "Officer John Morris". He is with the "Criminal Investigative Division" in Washington, DC. (Just strikes a heck of a lot of fear, doesn't it.) And with which law enforcement agency is that, I wonder. I called back the number he left, as well as the number appearing in Caller ID. How odd that this Barney Fife agency doesn't even employ the use of voice mail or answering machines for "criminal investigations". I just wish these dudes could be tracked down and arrested for threats and intimidation.

Even stranger they would call on a Federal holiday when the agency would be closed. Sure indication the call is originating from a foreign country and the caller is unaware of the holiday. That also makes tracking and prosecuting next to impossible, especially in countries where a job in a call center that scams people in the US is a coveted position.
