I got a call from 202-621-0422. They really sound scam to me. They wanted me to send money to them through western union. I taped the call just if i need it for future references. Surprisingly, the guy who called me is clearly Indian. However, when i asked him about his name, he gave me Jack William. Well, If you tour all India, you will not find one with such a name. they are trying to use a white names to got more people to their scams. I wish FBI got its hand on these illegal scammers.

We just got the same call. Says its the IRS and they're going to file a lawsuit against us unless we call back immediately. How did you find out it's a scam?

Got the same call, a computerized voice, stating they were the IRS filing a lawsuit and to call back, yet they gave no case number to reference on such a call back ( which I am not about to do). Definitely sounds like a scam

I received a call from this number. Said they were the IRS and were filing a Lawsuite against me. They wanted me to call back. Left a Case Number. Has to be a Scam. IRS would not call from "Out of Area" and would send correspondence through the mail before taking any kind of action.

I also just recieved a call from 202-621-0422 that my answering machine picked up saying that the IRS was going to file a lawsuit against me which is total BS and to call that # back which I don't advise anybody to do as it's a scam as explained in the IRS link that I will be adding below. I will definitely be reporting this call as per the IRS instructions listed on the IRS website page that I linked as it's total BS that these scammers can call and say such a thing and upset people when it is totally false, especially gullable people that are not aware of all of these scams and exactly how low these scums will go to get a call back. I hope they catch these scumbags and fast. Please take the time to report this scam otherwise nothing will be done about it. I never ever answer my phone unless I know the person/place that is calling, and if I don't know the # I always google it to see if it's a scam which it is pretty much all the time. Read the links.  Scam's been around for awhile.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.   Block and ignore.   DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.
