received a call from areacode 907-985-5536 saying i needed to call area code 202-621-0565 to receive a federal grant for 7.000 dollars. I was curious to see if this was a scam so i called the 202 area code ,it rang then went blank,i sure would like to know who is doing this and if they can be stopped.

Caller could barely speak English, but told me to call this number to receive a govt. grant of 7000 dollars. I did not call and reported it as a scam. They want your account numbers or banking information. Beware of these crooks!

Got a call telling me to call this same #. They want you to send them $190.00 first, then you get your $7000. It is a scam.

Got a call from them as well telling me to call this 2026210565, that I had been approved for 7000.00 in US grants, however she couldnt even speak English well. I feel like it is a scam and I want everyone to know it is.

Same thing, the caller couldn't speak English well and claim I had a federal grant for 7,000, I wish someone from the government could actually take a look at this scam.

I RECEIVED THE SAME MESSAGE TODAY I CALLED & THE SAMR THING THEY WANT ME TO SEND THEM $190 SO IF I WON THIS MONEY WHY CANT' THEY DEDUCT FROM THE $7000 THEY ARE SUPPOSELY GIVING ME? I SAY SCAM SCAM SCAM

I received the same call, went through the same routine.  I was told to call 202-621-0565 and speak to Amy Stone. After calling the 202-621-0565 number I was told that I had a choice of receiving the $7000.00 in the form of direct deposit, debit card or cash. Out of curosity I said cash.  Well, I was told that the money would come through Western Union.  I was told to go to Western Union and call her prior to posting my $190.00 fee, keep the line open and she would walk me through the proceedures for posting the $190.00 and receiving the $7000.00.  Sounds like a scam to me.

PARENTS BEWWARRE!!! My daughter, who still happens to be in high school received a call to her prepaid cell from this number informing her of the $7,000 US Grant being awarded to her. We thought it to be a scam and after viewing 800notes we have discovered we were right. what troubles us most is that they knew my daughter by name.

I received a phone call as well telling me to give this Amy Stone a call, that she was the manager.  I told them that I wanted my money thru cash.  She told me that I needed to go to a western union, first of all if you receive a grant, a grant is suppose to be free so why do we have to pay anything up front.  Why not deduct it from the $7000.00 I asked her for an address of her office, which is 200 independence avenue, in DC.  Don't sound correct to me at, please don't give out any of your bank information over the phone.  I have been a victim of identity theft, please be very careful.

Got the same exact call with all the same information. Girl knew very little English. People be careful because it's a scam!
