- TerryI got several calls on my cell and I finally answered. I was told that I was picked with 1699 other people to receive aq 5000 grant because I am low income. They wanted me to give them 99.00 fee to get the 5000 grant and they wanted my bank account, they had my address and name. I hung up the second she said 99.00 fee. I then called her back and told her I reported them to the FBI. She immediately disconnected.............I knew it was bull I just thought I would see what they were up to then I get on here and look up these types of calls and these people scam on everything they can think up. This woman stated she worked at the Department of Treasury. Her English was not very good. They need to be arrested for scamming people.

- Caller: No number
- HelonI also got a call from a lady who also did not speak English and she told me that I was chosen as one of the 1700 people whom the government wanted to give a grant of $5000. She also said the reason why ti got it was because I was paying my bills on time. When I asked where she got my address from she said she took it from the census information. I then asked her why shy she was calling from an unknown number she said because it is a no reply phone number. However, the address she gave me was my working address and not my home address. Then she gave me a number which she called a government grant number which looked like this GR007 and told me to call this number 202 621 0889 and speak to Carol and if I could do it immediately because Carol was now free because as soon as other people would get their calls they would be calling Carol. I have had enough of these kinds of phone calls so I waited to get home and look up this number and sure enough I was right. I have not called and don't intend to but for you folks who are desperate for cash please be careful. IT IS A SCAM!!!
- SISSSSSSCCCCCAAAAAAMMMMMMM!
- JaclynI got a call from a private number. I didn't recognize the woman's accent (it was very thick). She knew my name and old address. Gave me a "Grant ID #" and the phone number above to call. I called several times. Sometimes it would ring once, sometimes four times, sometimes not at all. I finally got ahold of "Carol", who is the same woman (her accent isn't as thick, but I'm 100% sure it's the same woman). She said I could get the money direct deposited or in cash. When I asked if I could get a check (because when the government gives you money, a check is never NOT an option), she scooted around about the reason why I couldn't. I asked for some kind of proof that it wasn't a scam, and she scooted around that too (telling me to go to www.grants.com, which is actually a government website). I told her that I would not give her my SSN or bank account number(s), and talked to her while I was looking up the phone number on here, where I found that it was a cellular number, and (from this website) a scam. I said,"Ma'am, why are you calling me from a cell phone, and why isn't anything you're telling me add up?" She hung up on me. I called back (obviously, she picked up and hung up quite a few times), and continued until I got her voicemail. I ripped her a new one before hanging up.
