Govt. loan scam. Please beware.

Asks for personal information.  Then they give you a number to call.
They pass themselves off as a government agency and then they ask for credit card or banking information.  Sounds pretty shady to me.

Called the number back.  A gentleman who said hello. I asked to speak with a Mr. Romero, a John Romero. He identified himself as John Romero and asked me my confrimation number that was given asked me my name and then put me on hold for about 5minutes. Came back and said that they work 24 hours a day and that they need people to be cooperative and not have a fu>> you attitude.  All along this call is on a government phone.  He, John Romero so called, has since again put me on hold for another 8 minutes.  But this time the call seems disconnected.   He finally came back and said that I would have to pay a 250.00 fee for a government wire to wire  fee. When I told him that I was in no way able to pay this amount he hung up on me. He did verify my cc card number unknowing that there is no money on the debit card that was given.  So if they ever tried to use it will not work.

Just got a call from an "Unknown" number that did the same as above, told me there were from the department of treasury and they were giving me $7000. HOOOBOY I hit the jackpot! NOT. There must be just enough dumb people in the world to make these scams successful enough to pay some barefoot sweatshop phone center in Mumbai full of blind kids to call people all day. Unreal. Don't call these numbers when people call you and tell you something that is too good to be true, it ALWAYS IS!

They demonstrated they had all this personal information on me and asked me to confirm it and then I was told to hang up and call this "John Romero" guy. What a joke.

you should hear my story, same as above, except when i called him on it, he harrassed me for three days. left me voicemails calling me a coward because i kept ignoring his calls.
psycho. called me all sorts of dirty names, and told me he would &*^% me like a dog.
