If this for real or some sort of scam?

Just got a call with a bad connection from a guy with a heavy Indian accent.  He said I was getting a free grant of $7000 that I didn't have to pay back. I could bearly understand what he was saying, but I wasn't giving him my bank info.  I asked where he was calling from and he said, "Washington, DC."  He gave me a Grant ID # and phone # to call 202-657-6082.   I researched the number online while talking with him a saw the posts. Then before I could hang up "call waiting" beeped; I switched over.  Another Indie rep responded with  $7K gov grant spiel.

This "unknown number" called my cell phone and they already knew my name and address and asked how old I was and said that since certain people don't have a criminal record and do well with their taxes, they are allowed a $7,000 grant that they don't have to pay back. She had a really thick accent and I could barely understand her and there were a lot of voices in the background. She asked me how I would like to recieve my money, cash or through a bank account. Then she told me to call 202-657-6082 and give a "confirmation number" to her manager and to keep calling because there were also a lot of other people calling to get their grant money.

I called just to see if anything happened and all it was was a busy signal.
I'm never answering my phone again >.<

Got the same call today, heavy accent, lot of noise in the background. Let me ask some questions: Did u recently apply for a grant? The lady said "direct deposit" or "cash". Never give yur bank info out!!! So i said "check" & she kinda giggled and said no, direct deposit or cash. Do u really think the gov. would send $7000 in CASH?? Did a lil research, the number was 585 area code, thats in central NY. Then gave a number to call w/ a 202 area code, which is in DC. So far so good right...BUT that number is listed as a suspicios number. eerrr... My caller had a heavy indian accent, and reading the other posts so did their caller. Does the treasury department have alot of indian grant reps?? Does the US government outsource it's phone service? WTF?? Well i asked the lady if she could tell me what street the white house was on & she couldn't...but then again there are americans that don't know that answer. So i'll keep calling...(just in case..lol) i'll keep getting the busy signal...eventally they'll call back, and when they do, i'll have more questions. I'll keep u posted

I just got the same phone call. Heavy accent, could barely understand what she was saying. When they called me though, my caller id said payphone so i knew something was up.

it not real because one of my soldier gave him bank information out thank god i got him to the bank and change his saving account so if this person call from this num give 202-657-6082 then you know not real the fbi has been set the num so hope they can get them

I SENT THE 210.00 DOLLARS AND THEY WANTED 700.00 MORE FOR TAX but i couldn't get my 210.00 back it is a scame and please don't be as gulleble as me just don't do it you will lose 200 hundred dollar or more.

They just call me and i gave them my inf, but i just call y Bank and cancel my Debit card, wish is wath i gave them to supposely deposit 7.000/ dollars from Gov Grands, wich i had request a couple of days back. so BE CAREFULL IS ALL A MONEY SCAM.

i just received the same call.  of coarse while on hold i reversed number look up.  its a scam.  i knew it was to good to b true.  i am asingle mom of 2 and could have used the money.  they do have grant prorams out there.  this one is a scam

A guy name Patrick call me and said I will received money of 7000 for a grant loan that I do not have to pay back. Then he told me to call this number and so I did and a lady name Amber talk to me. She said if I would send 200.00 to Delhi India to a man name Yasvir Singh then I would get my 7000 grant loan. Then a bank in New York would get me the loan. So the bank call me and a man name Michal said if I would seen 700.00 to the same man in India to pay my city and state taxes. Then I would get my money I just then know it was a scam. The number to Michael is 646-257-5891. So do what they say to do.

Happend to me just to let u knw I wasnt dumb enough lol  the government will never tell u to pay them in order to get ur money for them its all fun and free money but justice will happen

I got a call From this lady saying that i could recieve a Grant of the amount of 7000 and that I didn't have to pay it back and she kept asking me question. so I called the number that she gave me.  The lady that I talked to said that I just had to go to western union to recieve the money but that i had to pay 299.00 to get the money but when they told me that I knew it was  a scam. I know its rough out there but this is crazy for people to do this. my husband and I  are stuggling and for people to do this is to much.

Does n e body on gere have t-mobile as a wireless carrier....becuz this is a scam....these people must think we r really dumb but ecery u all r sayin is the same [***] these idiots called my phone with yesterday as well as 2day....i get unemployment, I have a 3 yr old son and im not finnah freely give my money 2 nobody I dont know...especially thru no damn western union...The guy I talked 2 name was Brian Williams & he was over aggressive on the phone becuz I kept asking questions.
