A lady called saying I'm getting $9,000 from government. Forgot how she said she picked me. They knew my name and address. Gave me confirmation code and phone # and said to call it right after they hang up. I'm like ???? So I googled area code. When they called it was a 000000 number.

No, I do not think you got your "grants money" from "money gram" or from anybody else.

It all sounds legit until they tell you it's tax free and you have to register by paying $150 to Western Union. If this was legit, they can take the taxes out of the funds! He gives a  WA DC area code and address and yes both can be verified but anyone can get any area code they want now! It's a load of BS.

I got a phone call without id they claimed it's because of security so she told me that the government put aside a grant of 9000$ because of a survey and she gave these number to call so I called some one with the name david and everything was aprroved just I have to go the nearest western union and pay for a charity org 200$ with a promise they going to give 9200$

OK so they told it was a pick random  because a drop in the economy. I thought it was funny when they really didn't say there names.  Then funny they ask me to donate back through  another company.

They did not have the right address for me. Very difficult to understand the oriental accent. She kept repeating herself. I tried the call back number, no answer. Googled and found this. I feel this a scam to get account numbers and personal info! The call came from (543)210-9876.

Just got a call saying I was randomly selected along with 1500 other people to receive a $9,000 grant from the "united states grants department"

Says they are windows support and they are getting notices from my PC that it has a virus or some BS. I asked if they needed my social security number and my bank account info to fix it.
Hung up.

Oh yes! It has little pictures of 'Robert E. Lee' & 'Jefferson Davis' all over it! and you know it's real, why it's backed by The Confederate States Department of the Treasury. Time to go shoppin'!

I received a call from this number I was told I would receive a government grant of $9000 as long as I could  pay the 200 dollar transaction fee though western union. This site popped up when I googled the phone number and I now know this is a scam. A friend of mine was called by a different number for the same thing and it come up as unknown caller and unknown business in NY. I also researched government grants and as far as I can tell you have apply for them, there are no random picks of 1500 people that the government has decided to help through a demographic survey.

I was called  by a 2026577501 saying I was picked for a 9,000 grant.don't fall for it. IT is a scale. They almost had me. I caught on to this.be smart.

I know how you feel its hard to believe that there scammers out there. Just be smart. Never wire any money.

Ignore the call.  There is no grant.  They ask for an upfront fee by untraceable means and when you wire the money, you never hear from them again.
