Said I had received a govt grant.  Had to call seperate number for it to be released either by money gram, western union, or Walgreens.

SCAM!!   There is no grant - you need to apply in order to get one.  IGNORE the thief who called you!

Its a BS number I told them I was reporting to police

No one at this website can stop the calls from being initiated.  Invest in a call blocker and DO NOT pick up on call numbers you do not recognize.  Callers are most likely Indian or Pakistani who spoof local numbers.  Might be a good idea to block the entire 202 area code.

Rec'd call:  He stated that they had a grant for me,I just said No Thanks and hung-up-----

Called to let me know that I'd received a Federal Grant worth $8500, but I'd have to call another number 202-827-5339 in order to receive the money to a local Western Union. At first, they wanted my banking information or my credit card information to electronically send the money to me. I declined, and I never called the number back.

Received a call 202-657-6828 claiming to having a legal challenge and gave a reference number did not mention my name. Said I had to call back. Sounded very disembodied like it was prerecorded lots of tape hiss.

It's a spoofed number - if you call the number displayed it is disconnected.

Caller asked, "may I speak to Frank?" in accented voice. I asked "may I ask who is calling?", and he hung up.

Wish I had seen it was spam beforehand - next time will act super excited and gather more information and put them on hold for long periods while I do actual work.

The only other callers from 202 are politicians, so... well, good advice. Block the entire area code!
