I got a call from someone claiming to be the local sheriff department where I live.  Phone # even was the same as the sheriff department.  Said a complaint was filed about "hot checks."  I asked about it and was given this phone number and asked to speak to a Stacy Lundy.  I called her.  She said she had filed this with my county but that she can pull it back.  offered me a "out of court" settlement of $1000 vs the supposed $1800 I supposedly owe.  I asked for documentation which she did not mail or email.  I was told that if I did not pay, I would be arrested on thursday.

Afterward I called my local sheriff department who said they have no information on me and said that no one called from the sheriff department.  Said that they do not call on these items.  Instead they show up at your door.  They ran my history and found no warrants or issues.

Looks like a scam to me.  Even said that this "loan" was from 2010 to 2011.  Gave an email that was the signature was from an email that I have not had access to since mid 2009.  it was an old work email that I no longer have.
