It is a person claiming to be from the IRS saying that there's a problem that needs to be taken care of immediately. They're fishing for your information so just hang up....scam scam scam

Second call today (two different numbers) with a computer generated voicemail claiming to be from the IRS. Blocked / reported to FCC.

I just got this call today as well. I didn't answer the number but then they sent a text threatening to call local authorities if I didn't call them back.

Computer speech voice saying tax issues and to call a Washington DC phone number, phishing scam.

I don't see how a California phone number can be listed as Washington DC. I don't see how these people are still getting away with this fraud??? These idiots did the same thing last year claiming to be the IRS office.

Just part of their absurd threats.  What do local authorities have to
do with federal income taxes in the first place?  Block and ignore.

They're located in India and Pakistan.   Hard core scammer/extortionists.
There's little the US can do and the local governments do less.  Call blocker
is your best bet.

Received a call from this number, recorded mssg about some irs fraud

WARNING:Criminal Investigation Division of I.R.S is filing lawsuit against you, for more information call on +1-2026843407 on urgent basis, Otherwise your arrest warrant will be forwarded to your local police department and your property and bank accounts and social benefits will be frozen by government.

Verified with IRS, fraudulent call! They get info when you return they're call, they may also charge you money through cell carrier by returning call or responding to texts.

Block and ignore! Watch cell bill for suspicious charges.

I just received a text message from this number threatening to have me arrested

transcript from google voice "Officer Marcus Brown and I am calling from criminal investigation division of irs the matter at the hand is extremely time sensitive and urgent as after all of it. We found that there was a fraud and misconduct on your tax. Which you are hiding from the federal government this needs to be rectified mediate. Lee so do return the call as soon as you receive the message the number is 202-684-3407 I repeat again, 202-684-3407. Thank you."

Received a call and text like others, threatening actions and arrest.  Do not respond, report.

They're on a role - same exact message as "Officer Marcus Brown.." above - threats, etc.

Yes we also have received this call. They did not know her name. The recording was completely unprofessional. Another idiot trying to scam

Also got this today. IRS will send you a letter before calling with some robot voice.  DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER BACK.
